Titanium Backup can backup and restore text messages and call log along with all of your apps.

Just installed this ROM. First ROM I've ever installed. Am I the only one for whom the camera still does not work? When I first try to open it it says that the Gallery has stopped working and crashes. Interestingly, I can open up the Gallery app by itself. Here's what I did to install it:
1. Booted into Safe Mode in Safety Strap
2. Factory reset/wipe of the data, wiped cache, wiped the other cache (blanking on the name... starts with a "d"), and formatted /system. (In that order, if I remember correctly)
2. Did the Install from .zip using the 10/14 version from my external sd card.
3. Installed the Gapps from my external sd card.
4. Booted phone up and went through initial setup.
5. Looked around some, tried out the camera (which promptly crashed), the Gallery (wouldn't load) discovered that sound wasn't working properly (ringtones wouldn't play, lock screen noises wouldn't play) and rebooted. The reboot fixed the sound issue and the Gallery app itself but still got the same error and crash from the camera.

Any suggestions to fix the camera?
Other than that it seems to be pretty cool so far. Thanks for the hard work!

Backup your data from the SD card and format it. That's what I did, and it worked fine.

OK let me make sure I am understanding correctly (Just to make sure since I'm a newbie). II should:
1 Backup data on external SD card.
2 Format the external SD card
3. Place the .zips on my newly formatted external SD card
4. Go into Safe mode and wipe cache, data, format /system
5. Install the ROM and Gapps from my external SD card.

Anything that I'm missing?

i just reinstalled the same rom on top of my existing rom a second time. also there are 2 jelly bean gooapps. the larger one gave me issues. i used the smaller one. no need to backup or format anything

When I say backup, I mean connect your phone via USB to a computer and copy everything you want to keep into a directory somewhere for safe keeping. Then use safestrap to format the SD card. After that flash as you usually would and the camera should work.

Devs are doing a fantastic job with this ROM. Keep it up!
One thing I've observed:
GPS on Hashcode's CM 9 and Stock ROM seems to work better. After installing this ROM (Stock Kernel CM 10, not Kexec CM 10) GPS cannot locate me inside my residence. It was able to immediately before installing CM 10 and still will if I switch over to stock rom. CM 10 will locate me almost immediately if I'm outside.

This isn't a big issue or anything, but the phone does get rather HOT if it can't find the GPS. Can't remember it doing this on CM9.
Just FYI.

is there a difference in formating the sd card through SS or thru settings then storage then format sd card?

Is anyone else's keyboard not lighting up? Mine lights up in Eclipse and Stock ROM, but not CM10.

If u have bluetooth on, cannot hear audio from phone calls, also does not work even if u have bluetooth connected on cm 10 stock rom. Other then that rom is super fast and amazing.

I don't know, honestly. That is just the way I did it.

In settings / display / brightness, put a check in Auto Brightness... see if that helps.

Did this, and installed (this time with Safestrap 3) and Camera works. The Camera flash and MMS still do not work, however. But I don't know that these have been reliably fixed yet anyway.

If you flash the inverted JB Gapps, it wil get MMS working for you.
