Unofficial MIUI Modded Edition

Considering that there's no way of knowing whether or not anyone who flashes your mod is a member at XDA, and considering that on the post at XDA the SetCPU dev says "Do not include this in your ROMs", I would suggest removing it from your mod. That seems to me to be the right thing to do.

Didn't realize this. It is a free app, but if they do not want it bundled then I will remove it in the next release. Thanks.

It's sort of a quasi-free app, it costs 2 or 3 bucks the market. I'm willing to bet the majority of us paid for it. I'm sure you meant no harm by including it though. :)

Hey guys, I just want to try and clarify the situation with setcpu.

This is from the setcpu dev

"ROM developers: Please do not include SetCPU in your ROM. I appreciate the work you're doing, but link to this thread instead, and I'd really appreciate it if you mention that SetCPU is available on the Android Market.

Edit: He also states his position on the app and it's use in the thread..

SetCPU for Root Users [2.0.4] It's over nine thousand 11/03/2010 - xda-developers

Yea, sorry M1, like I said, I will take it out. I already link people to the official thread in the OP.

i just installed this rom along with the chev kernal 1.2 and every time i try and change the speed on setcpu i get a fc any clue?

Read the op. It clearly states that if you are getting FC issues with SetCPU, you will need to uninstall and it reinstall it. If it's a kernel issue, I can't help you.

Can you make it where it uses the "grid like" menu style instead of the iphone like list style for when you hit the "menu" button in apps and on the home screen?

Nope. I'm not a MIUI dev. Ask on MIUI.CN.

Boot animations!

bootanimation.zip - White BG (1.5mb)
bootanimation.zip - Blue BG (8.5mb)
bootanimation.zip - Black BG (1.7mb)

How do you install these? Does it have to be renamed to PB31IMG.zip?

What the hell? No, move the file to /system/media/, replacing the old file.

Move zip file to /data /local. Don't flash it.

This is the old location for this file. I believe they changed it after 2.1 or 2.2.

actually android looks in /data/local for bootanimation before /system/media

So putting it in /data/local/bootanimation.zip is nice because it leaves the bootanimation in /system/media as a backup or failsafe.
