[UPDATE]Motorola Olympus shows up on camera....again.

^^^I was thinking the exact same thing. Probably the Solano. I'm pretty sure Olympus and Etna are about the same except for LTE. As for UNC, no I'm not acting as if the iPhone doesn't exist, it's just a non factor for me so I didn't comment on it. Aside from putting Android on it there's not much they could do to make me get one. Android is my os of choice. Also, these smartphones are basically computers so I am pretty sure Nvidia knows what they doing. There's a reason so many manufacturers are using the Tegra 2.

CK, can you comment on this new thread that Phil Nickinson started just recently over at Android Central (if you know anything about it):

More on the Motorola Dogz - Android Forums

The point I'm alluding to is this one:
  • There's supposedly another 4.3-inch Motorola phone in the works. (That maybe the Etna?)
Have you heard anything about a 4.3 inch Motorola phone in the works? Since the pictures here are the Olympus, which is expected to go to ATT. Maybe Verizon would want a different version of a Tegra 2 phone, so they can Droid brand it. Just a thought. Once again, pure speculation. Thanks again CK!
I'm not sure what you already know so forgive if I tell you something that you already may know.

So okay the Motorola Olympus is going to AT&T (you already know that) the Verizon version will be called the Etna. Now here's what I think he's talking about. The specs on this device here are unknown except that it will be a slider. So I believe he's is picking up some info on the Solana (in link).

This is only a educated guess from what little info I have but I believe that this is the case. It almost has to be because there is so little known accept that there is another great Moto device on the way that is going by the code name Solana.
the pictures of the decive in that thread look more like a tablet, than a slider

Okay, that clears things up a little. It sounds like Motorola might be working on a slider 4G and touch 4G phone for Verizon. Interesting. Makes more sense. Thanks.

I just hope there are a solid amount of dual-core phones on VZW when I become eligible for my upgrade from my original Droid in early July 2011.

i'm still hoping that the slider closely resembles this rendering CK found earlier - i would be all in for this. maybe it will end up being a good thing that my upgrade isn't until next Sept...

nVidia IS a newb when it comes to smart phones, aren't they?

I guess everyone disregarded my iPhone 5 comment... Are y'all acting like it doesn't exist?

I meant to quote this....lol

Your comment made me laugh. I have no problem with iPhones but my preference is Android. Don't see the point in arguing so I try to avoid the bait.

That is a nice render...it would be a great design and color scheme for a device I think but what do I know : )

i'm probably in the minority, but i was a little disappointed in the leaked Olympus pics. If it's gonna be a dual core monster, i want it to be bold and stand out. THIS design would really stand out, and be bad...! but maybe that just says i'm too much for "form over function"...

btw, it would certainly appear you're much more in-the-know than most - even if your leaks just make me feel envious.

I happen to like the design. I do not want a physical Keyboard. If it had one I would not get it. Waiting for more info and specs on this phone.

Global LTE?

While the design is not particularly inspired (not as sleek as the DInc HD), imho, it has all the guts I want in a phone. That's why I'm sitting on my upgrade -- I want this device.

I agree that I don't want a physical keyboard and that would make it a nonstarter for me (hopefully the Solana will satisfy those requiring a keyboard).

One question: the original rumors about the Olympus/Etna stated that the VZW version would be LTE-global. Is this still true? And do all LTE devices have "global" capability, or do they need to put another GSM radio in the thing to make it work outside the US?

The thing that will win me over (besides the awesome performance) is the fact that Motorola is great at bringing out accessories for devices at the time of launch. I really want a car dock for my phone so I can use the navigation system easily. If the Olympus launches with a car dock like the DX did...then that may seal the deal for me.

A person in the know confirmed a while back that it would be global. Things change, but he hasn't reported a change. The last few Moto smartphones have been global (D2 and Pro), so they seem to have the technique down.
