Update push confirmed!

i highly doubt HTC would make a claim if they weren't capable of getting it done much sooner.

I'm sure the hold up in on verizon's end not HTC's.

It is odd no ROM has leaked.

Though there are tons of GB roms available so its not like HTC had trouble making it.
i don't think those gb roms were from htc. Weren't they mods of gb that came out on other devices?

That is wonderful news for any customer looking for honest customer service. Uh, guess that does not exist when it threatens your dollars earned. Thanks for the inside CS scoop.

Sorry, had extra sarcasm saved up...Which 6/30 should that update come out? :frown:

Yeah, I wouldn't get too uppity about that... Used to work for Fidelity Investments, and they had the same policy, and I know Verizon has the same as well. They have a benchmark for average calls, and if you don't meet it, you don't get bonused and you get written up on your internal file.

Just the way call centers are nowadays. Non-personal, and get em off the phone ASAP.

I understand. Just saying that from the customer viewpoint, it lacks the potential for better quality CS.
No sarcasm when I say this: hope this update happens sooner rather than later. Happy fourth y'all.

I doubt Verizon would release such a major update right before a long holiday weekend. They most likely would have to increase their support staff for the first few days or weeks after any thing that changes thousands of end user's phones. It wouldn't make sense to increase staff on a holiday weekend.

Just my 2 cents.

You got MR1.

Incoming Newb question: What's MR1?
congrats, your phone is now screwed up. enjoy the random reboots.

on a related note, it's constantly hilarious how people still believe Verizon reps know a goddamn thing about anything.

Well since the MR1 update I got I haven't had one reboot happen to me.... My bolt is working great thus far. No complaints besides the battery draining but I expected that with such a huge screen.

I just got mine as well and got all the updates at once and have had no problems except battery drain but have still gotten 12 hours with moderate use easily the last few days! Very happy with my phone thus far!

...I think everyone is confused, they meant 6/30/2012, when 4 different versions of Android has already hit other devices first, then we'll finally see GB.

I mean, isn't that usually how it works unless you have a Nexus phone?

This is starting to sound like the Guy who said the world is going to end.

As of 20 July 8:37 pm. Straight from the horses.... errr.... mouth....

Dear Christopher,

I understand that you would like to update your device as soon as possible. I know how important it is to keep your device current and I apologize this is taking so long.

Before releasing a ROM update we have to be sure that the software is going to work properly on your hardware and on your carrier’s network. This testing does take some time but will result in an update that is optimized to work on your device and on your carrier’s network. While we want to release software as soon as we can we will only do so once the software has passed our quality standards.

We stated that the update would be released within the second quarter and I know this has passed. However, as I am sure you are aware, a maintenance release triggered random reboots with the Thunderbolt and many customers were having issues with this and making the devices practically unusable. I can only guess, as I do not have any official information, as to the reason the update was pushed back. My guess is that HTC wanted to correct the rebooting issue before sending out another update. Now, the maintenance release to resolve rebooting issue has been released and I am sure we are diverting our attention back to the Gingerbread update to get this released as quickly as possible for our customers.

At this time we do not have any information about an update for your device. When the update is released it will be announced on HTC.com.
