[Update] Verizon's New Family Data Plans Begin: It's Called the Share Everything Plan

Hey everyone! Seems to be getting a little on the argumentative side in here. I am sure it is not intentional so lets just make sure it stays respectful from here on out and we keep the information flowing.

Thanks in advance

Where are people seeing that Verizon if going to force people into these new plans when they upgrade their phones? Or that they are going to take away your unlimited data when someone else in your family share plan upgrades their phone? Why would one line upgrading have anything to do with the other lines? They are separate contracts with separate terms and end dates. Please stop posting things as fact unless you actually know them to be a fact and have the proof.

If you are on unlimited data:
If you pay full price for the phone at time of upgrade then you can keep your unlimited data, if you subsidize one of your lines on or after the 28th you will have no choice but to go with the share everything plan.

I don't understand what's the commotions all about? Are we stressing out? :rofl2: Darn VERIZON! I think someone just misunderstood the whole point, or maybe just me :happy3:. All those said is true... Now, for the simple fact about someone ability to keep Unlimited data and whether or not Verizon will do the same thing like they did back in July 2011. No One KNOWS! All just based on tinkering really. No one knows what will Verizon do to those that decided to keep unlimited data and be on month to month contract (period) Let's hope they uphold their promise of keeping such "condition" or we are screwed if they use legality to weeding out users one by one. :icon_ devil:

That article proves my point. Learn to read...

Dude...did you really miss this?

As part of its revised pricing structure, Verizon gave tiered voice and texting plans the boot. All smartphone plans now have unlimited voice and texts. That makes the monthly data allotment (and the number of connected devices) the only measure that customers can control to raise or lower their monthly bill.

That is straight from the article. I'm guessing you skimmed and didn't read. There's no way you could have missed that.

611 and both a rep in a corporate store. I seems V does not want them to know until it is too late. At this point I understand that if I want to update to a subsidized phone it will not cause a change plan but beginning 6/28 it will probably automatically trigger to all share. The V reps gave mixed answers to the 6/28 deadline. I can see it increasing the value of phones on Ebay. I will hold onto the unlimited plan. I used 62gb in April... I am on the road constantly and use the 4gLte instead of the hotel slowfi.

:rofl2: we are here to help each other out. Syndicate never said that you'll be forced to new plan, but representatives are just like Salespeople. They will try to sway you over, but you can be firm and told them "No means No". Ok for those that love NPR source:

Questions And Answers About Verizon's New Plans : NPRBasic Summary:

Q: Will Verizon convert me to a new plan, or can I keep my old plan?
A: Verizon won't switch you over to the new plan unless you ask. You can keep your old plan, even if you trade up to a new phone after that date and extend your contract. But for new customers, Share Everything will be the only alternative, with a few exceptions, starting June 28.

Q: What if I have an "unlimited data" plan? Can I keep it?
A: Yes, you can. But —and there's a big "but" here— Verizon will no longer let you move the plan to a new phone after June 28, unless you pay the full, unsubsidized price for it. For most smartphones that will add hundreds of dollars to the price.

Q: I'm a current Verizon customer with a 3G phone, but I need faster data downloads. Do I have to go to a new plan if I upgrade to a 4G phone?
A: No, you can keep your old plan. However, if you have an unlimited data plan, you'll be paying full price for that spiffy new 4G phone, as mentioned above.

:hail: no need to do an "old yeller")

And nowhere does it say: "if you have unlimited data and you upgrade your phone you have to switch to share everything"

Ok...This is the last time I'm going to respond. You will LOSE unlimited if you upgrade. I just showed you that tiered plans are going bye bye. What else are they going to switch you to besides a share everything plan?

Something I feel very important from that article:
Verizon 'Share Everything' plan: Everything you need to know about Verizon's new sharing plan

"
The company has broken its pledges in the past, most notably by forcing customers with legacy unlimited data to switch to tiered data plans when they upgrade their phones. Verizon originally said existing customers would be able to keep their unlimited plans indefinitely."

I saw that too. Verizon originally said unlimited users would be grandfathered (even through upgrades) forever. I'm telling you, in two years tops, you won't even be able keep unlimited by buying outright. That's why I'm getting out now.

Technically...indefinitely doesnt mean forever....beautiful wording on Verizon's part....IF they did originally say indefinitely.

Yeah... I respected your decision and hope there are more people like you and peredroid that then should convince Verizon to change their mind.

Let me ask you this. You are out of Verizon base on your personal belief, but there are no regulations to stop something like this to be copied by your future telco carrier. You can end up paying more and more with less value. This is just like that guy who said something about greed. Those that have money keep on adjusting that then could lead to inflation. It is the normal way of how modern businesses are being handled. There were many companies like eBay. Why? Entrepreneurs knew the benefit of creating such company due to people want to save money. They don't care if people on retail losing their job, until some states gassed out, and gave mandate that Internet purchases required to pay sales tax as well.
