update received

i received this update about 10-12-11. Live in georgia. Cannot tell much difference other than the version. What is special and so different?

Good to know G. At least I'm not alone lol. What state are you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm wondering if this is being pushed out in markets. As I've heard others saying about certain updates they are "supposed" to recieve. My current system version is 1.3.232.MB870.Verizon.en.US (BTW) As I am pretty sure everyone else is? I have to say I've been very persistant on this update that i've been refreshing pages to see ANYTHING new and I have noticed that; I had found this whole update thing by going to this site: http://support.verizonwireless.com/information/software_updates.htmlWhich list's all Verizon Android Phones and the update dates. As you may notice now if you click on this link it says an error or "under maintenance." But before this error had come up I was able to SEE all devices/dates and I had seen under Motorola: and DROID X2: the date clearly said 10/05/2011. So I was thrilled and clicked on it to find the URL of my first post. So I don't know WHATS going on but it is very clear an update awaits the DX2...anyones input is greatly appreciated on this update if anyone has gotten it and can tell us the specs. As I'm hoping this OTA fixes some of my issues as well as others...Thanks!:)

If you click on the above link and go to Motorola Droid X2, click on that and you'll see benefits and update instructions. Click on benefits and it lists them all. My two MAJOR issuea on 2.3.3 were not being able to use the magic smoke live wallpaper and the glitching of the camera. This 2.3.4 seems to have fixed that for sure. Keyboard does seems more responsive to the touch as well. Hope this answers your question.

Is it possible that the screen is better now? Someone said this and I took out my lens and the grid pattern seems to be much smaller.
Naked eye wise it seems to be the same but when you look close it does seem better.

My Complaint is the amount of ram being used now. It will run fast and smooth but after a few hours it lags and slows down tremendously. I will go from 100 or so MB free to 60 MB free and I have to reboot and it will run flawlessly for another few hours. I have tried using task killer to kill some apps to free up some ram but doesn't seem to help any.

Yes! I agree. This is crap. Play drag racing for 20 minutes straight from a fresh reboot...lags like no other. Reboot it and it's all cleaned out. Same on the long end...just use normal and eventually...it lags.

My number one, and only complaint right now.

Yes I believe I have noticed the major ram drop in playing games. Played zynga poker for 15-20 minutes and your right. Lag central. AND I deff had a random reboot while trying to send out a text message. Was pressing send and there was no reply to my touch. Did it a couple more times and still no blue notifying me I pressed send, then BLACK, droid, droid eyeball...ect. So that was deff not fixed as promised on the update. Keyboard MUST have sent it into a reboot as others have stated before. This was actually the first time this has happened to me. Also in reguards to the magic smoke live wallpaper, I had it set for about 12 hrs and decided to switch back to one of the regular defualt wallpapers. As it set I noticed the image was off base then it usually looked. So I started scrolling left n right to check it out and it wouldnt even move with the pages like it usually does...very strange. Want to say the flashed version of the update was better. But it may be also cuz I have just a COUPLE more apps downloaded then I did on the flashed version. So far...my issues are just my $0.02. Also the battery reading is still CRAZY. Everytime I reboot my phone I get anywhere from 10-30% MORE battery life...not normal? Again just my $0.02

I have also noticed the available ram issue. Yesterday for the first time I received a little tiny pop up saying..."low memory"

I dont know why but I truely feel like the flashed version on 2.3.4 is soo much more smoother then the actual OTA update. Just my opinion. Thinkin about flashing back to it. Battery's been very strong today goin on 16 hrs with only using 20% which puts me at 80. Strange.....
