Update your PRL'S

I wonder also why you have that number. Maybe things happen slower down south? ;) mikey
Not sure. When I had my Alltel BlackBerry 8830 the PRLs were similarly numbered (I can't remember specifically).

Since then the account was switched over to full Verizon when I upgraded to Droid. I do wonder if perhaps it is because it's a Business account? Doesn't bother me though.

Just spoke with a Verizon CSR. The 400XX PRLs are for VZM customers who have Alltel plans. You can apparently still be on a Verizon account but choose to "upgrade" to Alltel plans when you renew an Alltel device.

Thus, I guess since the terms of the renewed alltel plan was better, even though I was purchasing through verizon I actually technically still have an alltel plan and alltel-based contract.

No biggie... it does mean there is a small update for the PRLs for us crazy hybrid alltel folk though.

65085 is given in former Alltel areas, it prefers the Alltel cells over Verizon cells.
51739 is given in Verizon areas, it prefers Verizon cells over Alltel cells.

If you have PRL 40060, you are on an older plan or on a regional, local or some plan other than America's Choice II (which is the nationwide plan most people have).

Yes, that is the latest - I just did *228 #2 and I got the same number. I'm in Los Angeles, CA btw (40 mins north from downtown).

*228 option 2

I updated PRL after the software update and my PRL is now 51716

Previous was 51638.

I'm in Los Angeles.

I purchased my Droid on December 26th. Release 2.0.1 was already installed. Because I switched to AT&T and now back to VZW, I forgot about updating the PRL so I just checked. My current PRL is 51716.

So, except for the new release, it appears all updates are current.

I'm in central PA and we are getting walloped by another snow storm so enjoy the warm weather, Cereal.

Mike

For those who frequently apply various ROMs do you find you need to *228 often as well or was the ROM built with the latest PRL included?

....

Awww, I see. How so though? I live like 3/4 mile from a Verizon tower? It even says on the fence VZ...????

So how can I optionally switch from one area to another? I was in Verizon and am now on Alltel, I know this because we have a Verizon repeater in our office building and I used to get a full 3G signal from it, now I get crap :'(
