[Updated] Droid RAZR Pre-orders Already Sold-Out

I will wait and see to compare both phones. My major concern? Samsung's poor performance for software o/s updates makes me hesitant about the Nexus. But since its a Google phone, maybe they are in control. Plus I read there are stipulations with the ICS Terms that manufacturers have to agree to update their devices in a more timely manner. Razr, Nexus, Droid 4, these phones are moving at a breakneck speed! We are going to want each and every model for the next 6 months! ! Quad processors? ? Both a blessing and a curse, lol....

Yeah...the updates come from Google, not Samsung. OTA updates are the last thing you need to worry about regarding the Galaxy Nexus. It will CONSTANTLY be updated (to the latest and greatest of course), which is definitely a good thing :)

And no one has talked about not being able to remove the battery on the Razr. Am I the only person who is away from an outlet for long amounts of time. I bring an extra battery with me and when the phone dies I pop-in the new battery and off I go with a fully charged phone.

I will take being able to change the battery over the sdcard any day.

I have such a problem with the non-removable battery that I would honestly prefer a Bionic (should the issues get worked out via OTA) over the Razr. And now that the Droid 4 has leaked and it supposedly has a non-removable battery I may not be a huge Moto fan much longer.

It's nice that they sold out. But I want to know how many they sold. The selling out aspect would be flat if there were only a few thousand available for pre order.

Are they really sold out? Or is VZW creating an artificial shortage in order to generate more hype?

I mean what would you do say you rooted it and had a bad flash or something? I guess there is always adb...hope your by a pc with sdk on it.

Another thing about Moto is the locked bootloader I like being able to flash different ROM's even if I'm not by a computer and if something goes wrong your out of luck untill you get to a pc with RSDLITE on it to SBF. With the unlocked boot loader just boot in to clockwork and restore a backup.

Do I smell Apple type market hype... The Bionic has the TV type screen off so there is no reason to think the RAZR would not acquire this screen off animiation. Resizeable widgets are already in MotoSKIN (aka Blur) and 3Desq preview screen. I'm not a fan of skins but Blur is not the worst but it is limited to 5 home screens.

Personally, I only use 3 main screen so having 5 doesn't really bother me. I guess I just don't put a lot of apps or widgets on the homescreens.

I see. The only thing I could think of the RAZR being better is slimness. They both use the same processor (The RAZR has a 4460 not a 4430), same RAM, both 4G. Screen is preference, SD card slot is preference, camera is probably better on GN because it's a Samsung camera and it has zero shutter lag. Megapixels don't mean squat unless you are trying to make a large print (and from your phone, I doubt you will). Samsung camera's are better than Motorola cameras (thought Moto cameras aren't horrible).

zero shutter lag is an ICS thing

I wont lie...the Bionic is still on my list, even tho I pre ordered the RAZR today. I might see if I can get the Bionic, Nexus and RAZR...lol. It will be my first LTE phone but if other folks deal breakers become mine....I will return it. As far as better specs, hardware...I think the RAZR and Nexus are too close to say one has better hardware specs...unless you count the body of the phone..lol Then the RAZR might get the nod. I wanna try out NFC too.

I went in and pre ordered my razr about an hour ago and to my surprise I was only the second person in to pre order it.For me I chose the razr over the nexus just because of the stronger build and the splash guard. Plus others we're saying that the camera quality on the nexus sucked. And yes people that are testing the phone do have it already and that's what they're saying.I take alot of pictures so I need a better camera on my cellphone! Plus most of these new phones coming out are going to be fast so who cares about a two second faster phone over some other features? Can't wait until it's in my hands!
