Updating Original Droid

I recently needed to remove my root so I used the sbf file to return to the 2.0 firmware, build ESD20 software. All seems fine now but I would like to upgrade as far as I can so some of my old apps will run. I've read several posts and instruction sets on using the 2.2 update.zip. I've downloaded the 2.2 update.zip and attempted to install it though the boot loader and it fails each time aborting the installation.

Can anyone provide any feedback with regard to what I'm missing here.

Thanks in advance for any assitance.

You mean through recovery?

What kind of error are you getting?

You may try user: teddyearp He has a few guides and such with some links that may help.

sounds like you have a bad file, i'd redownload it and try again.

but why dont you just sbf the 2.2 file?
I've now D/L'ed the file from several sources and I get the same error when it attempts to access and open the update.zip. Where can I get the 2.2 sbf and I'll go that route please.

Did you download from teddyearp?

Pretty sure he has the file on his server.
