Using RSD Lite to flash an SBF file -- correctly

Ah, sorry, just making sure you weren't trying to flash SPRecovery to root it. :)

How did you get into the bootloader in the first place? Because you'll want to do that.

i bricked my phone, so its stuck on the bootloader screen, i was told
that flashing the SBF file would fix it.

normally i get into it by pressing the hold/pwer button the top volume button and pressing the camera button.

i dont know what to press when doing step 9 though, to "catch the boot"
):

What you do is press and hold those right before it starts to reboot. Keep an eye on the progress bar and when it gets to that point you press/hold and let it reboot.

However, as this document was written for the Droid 1 (which has the problem) and not for the X (which might not) you might not have to worry about catching it. Just watch and see.

okay, thanks for the help.

now i just need to get my neighbor to charge the battery for me.

when exactly do i press/hold the buttons?
what does the status bar have to say?

Sorry, I meant watch RSD Lite (so used to status bars! LOL) and when it gets to that point press and hold. Of course, the X might not have the same bug the D1 has and might reboot into the bootloader properly.

Will flashing with RSD lite help this. My SD card was completely wiped. I have no original files, backups, I can boot to recovery as well as bootloaded. They both work, but i have nothing to pull and am not sure where to look for the files for the SD. If anyone has any insight on the issue it would be great. I am on Droid1, running frg22d. I have clockworkmod recovery, trying to go from rooted stock to shadow rom.

Look for an option to enable USB mass storage in CW. Enable it, then copy whatever ROM you want from your computer to the SD card and install manually.

this works perfectly for droid X. Instead of pressing the dpad press camera and volume down per the write-up. got a pass first time!!
