Verizon Droid X inventories becoming depleted

LOL, I forgot mine at the store!!! lol I was so excited that they let me upgrade my wifes line early and put it on my number that I put it on the floor next to me and when I was walking out giggling like a school girl I left it!!

Been thinking about an X for sometime. I have a Droid that is rooted and loaded with FROYO that I love. Looked at the INC the day it came out and passed. Just didn't see the reason to move.

A co-worker has a EVO and I had a chance to play with that phone with a huge display and loved it.

Jumped online this morning at 8:00 CST and placed my order with an early upgrade for $199. At noon I had a shipment notice with tracking number that is valid for delivery tomorrow the 16th.

The good news is that I can keep my Droid 1 until I see how I like the new beast. If they sit on the 2.2 update too long or they don't find a way to root it I will move the X to a a willing buyer.

I'm a Moto fan since the bag phone followed by my brick phone, I've probably owned 25 motos.

I do like that EVO though. 2 cams, kickstand, 4G ready. Just give it to me rooted on Verizon!

I love my droid but i decided to go into my local Verizon store and play with the X. Took about 3.7 seconds for me to fall in love. But i didn't desert my first love. Decided to wait and see if the pro is gonna be what its rumored to be. But I talked to a guy at the Verizon store(i live in a suburb of Detroit) and he said they had 30 but sold out in less than an hour. But he told me if I wanted to order one that i would definitely have it by Monday. That store has been good with that they told me, so maybe tomorrow i might find myself cheating on my first love with her younger sister. Should I feel ashamed?

I got up at 2:30am on 7/15 to order this thing. Making a leap from BB to Android, after waiting around for the Incredible to come off of back order I learned about the X and decided that it would be the better phone for me.

So anyhow, got up at 2:30am and completed the whole order by say, 3:00am. Well ALL day the Verizon site said that my order was processing and it finally said, this evening sometime, that it was processed and that I would receive an email about shipping. Well I haven't received an email ... anyone think that SOMEHOW I got back ordered by chance?

Got mine from Best Buy at 7pm after work. Not one hitch. I preordered it about two days after the announcement.

The guy was trying to set stuff up, I told him don't bother. He entered my gmail addy, and tried to explain the whole verizon backup crap to pull contacts from my old phone (a win mobile POS) and before he could do that the phone had already loaded all my contacts. lol

ordered mine at 3am sometime on release day and everything went through fine, by 9am i had my 2 emails from verizon with order info and shipping info. Shipping shows ill have it by 3pm tomorrow

Yes. I think I did too. I called Verizon 3 times after it said my order was process and about to be shipped. 2 of the guys said it will most likely ship next week.

By the way, I placed my order 1am EASTERN time. less then 1 hour after release. While my co worker, who placed the order at around 1 pm eastern, almost 12 hours after I did, had his order shipped, he will get his droid X today (Friday) according to the tracking number Verizon gave him. Ain't that some ****. I'm calling verizon about this tomorrow. They aren't going to hear the end of it. :work3:

Well, I ordered my phone, and got a confirmation of the order to my e-mail stamped Jul 15, 2010 at 2:33 AM.

As of right now, I have only received the order confirmation from Verizon, and I was hoping to see a follow up today, hopefully with a shipping announcement, but I have yet to get one.

When I check the status of my order, all it says is:
Order Status: Your order has been processed and will be shipped based on inventory availability and shipping method. You will receive shipment notification and tracking details via email.

Of course with this news I am now worried that somehow they are going to tell me that they are sold out, even though I ordered it at 2:33 (est) on release date. They have charged my bank account, so I am hoping that is a good sign.

This will be my first Android phone, and honestly, I can't wait to get it. I have been waiting a while for it.

if you havent already gotten shipment notification, your backordered till next week. I got mine 5-6 hours after i placed my order and tracking showed it had already been picked up by fedex. Also im in CA, where the item shipped from was only a hour away from me, if i knew sooner i woulda called and tried to pick it up today from a fedex location. Where did you guys order from? Another thing ive noticed is most of the people who ordered with bank account got their orders backordered since it usually takes 2-3 days untill bank clears funds where as credit cards are instant so maybe thats why you might have gotten delayed order? just a thought.

Ordered directly from Verizon Wireless over the web, 1 hour after sales started. I had the phone price charged to my Verizon account. My balance went from $0 to $207 (with change) 2 hours later.
