Verizon Droid X inventories becoming depleted

if you havent already gotten shipment notification, your backordered till next week. I got mine 5-6 hours after i placed my order and tracking showed it had already been picked up by fedex. Also im in CA, where the item shipped from was only a hour away from me, if i knew sooner i woulda called and tried to pick it up today from a fedex location. Where did you guys order from? Another thing ive noticed is most of the people who ordered with bank account got their orders backordered since it usually takes 2-3 days untill bank clears funds where as credit cards are instant so maybe thats why you might have gotten delayed order? just a thought.

It would be very disturbing to me if I am on a back order due to the time that I ordered it. I guess I should have just gone to the store on my way to work today, but I didn't want to wait for the rebate, because I have heard of so many people getting screwed over with rebates.

Well, if I don't see an e-mail from them by 10:00am tomorrow, then they will receive a nice little call from me. I like making those types of calls. :-/

ordered mine at 3am sometime on release day and everything went through fine, by 9am i had my 2 emails from verizon with order info and shipping info. Shipping shows ill have it by 3pm tomorrow :)

Why are your taxes so high? Where the heck do you live? Verizon charged me an extra $9 for over night shipping and I still only payed 207 with taxes. The free shipping promotion didn't work for me, only the 10% off did.
 
yep i had my name on a list at my local store to go pick one up today but i thought eh why not just get it online and wait a day n get my rebate instantly and save $50 more, so i guess i got lucky. As for charging it to your account not sure maybe that requires them to get approval first by supervisors before they submit the order where as credit card orders go through the computer automatically.. dunno, i know 2 other people who placed their orders without a credit card and they havent gotten shipment on their order yet.
 
i live in CA, tax in CA is based off the full retail price on the phone :/ plus its 9.75% but eh what can i do. Shipping was automatically free, im guessing since the warehouse is in CA or what not but ya i didnt have to put shipping promo in.

My payment was approved by 3 am. My credit scores are all upwards of 800, which is what they base your credit approval on.
 
not sure, all i know is when i wanted to buy some phones at the store, and wanted them placed on my account for payment, they told me they had to first check with the supervisor and he had to manually put it in the system even though my credit is good as well. Im guessing if they have that policy, the orders which get placed and people chose bank or charge to account orders get placed a side for a rep in the morning who is authorized to look through and approve before it is 100% placed. Dunno. Another thing i noticed is when i was upgrading, i was using my droid prototype phone originally, and noticed in their system they know im using a engineering prototype phone, first time i saw that, it showed a blank image for the phone and says Moto Test Device for my number.

Ok so I have the answer to some of our questions and I don't know about you guys, but I feel just a little cheated with this.

I called Verizon at 6am this morning and went around with them for about 30 minutes, finally they have me a number (800-338-7390) and told me to call after 8am. They said that this place was responsible for handling all orders on the internet.

So I called them ...

And this is what they said ...

All orders "processed" before 2:30pm were shipped yesterday and all orders "processed" after 2:30 pm will be shipped on the 23rd. I asked the guy, "I placed my order at 2:30am, 12 hours before this cut off you're talking about, this doesn't make sense." He said, "There are several factors that may delay an order from being processed." Yeah ... right ... its a damn credit card.

So there's Verizon's answer and at least it kinda makes sense, even if I don't like it. The good thing is that they'll let you change your shipping address if need be as I NEEDED to do that since I'm traveling.

Skip the CSRs and call these guys if you ordered online and are wondering what is up with your order.

That phone number is wrong, it is for enterprise rent-a-car.

Well, I just called the standard (800) 922-0204 that is on the website and the CSR was able to answer my questions, after putting me on hold three times.

She said the same thing that you did, if it was ordered before 2:30 PM on the 15, then it would have been shipped out on the 15th. I have actually just confirmed this with a friend of mine who ordered his at 8:00am on the 15, and he received his phone today.

So, after looking into my order, they saw that my order was stalled for some reason, but a phone was associated with it, so it isn't like it was out of stock, but it wasn't shipped. She, nor anyone, could give me an answer as to why it was stalled, nor did her or the person she was consulting with offer anything to me even though I have been a customer for 10 years, and that I have had more problems with their customer service than I can even remember.

She said the phone should be shipped out today. So, I asked, "Should it be, or will it be shipped out today, because there is a big difference." All she kept saying is that it 'should' be shipped out today and I will receive an e-mail 'if' it is shipped out today. To which I commented, "You don't seem confident that it is going to be shipping out today." She didn't reply, she side-stepped the comment, and continued to give me empty apologies. I told her that it isn't her that should be apologizing, it should be a higher level person, to which I apologized to her, because I know it wasn't her fault.

I really hate Verizon so much, I could have had the phone in my hand because I work by a Verizon store, I just didn't want to deal with the rebate procedure, because the last two rebates I had were 'lost'.

Good luck to everyone else that ordered the phone 'on time' but haven't gotten them yet.
 
I had a preorder at BB which was unable to fullfill my preorder because of shortage in phones. They had 24 preorders and only received 12 of them. I had called BB on tuesday and was already aware that I would not be getting a phone on launch day. So I ordered mine online at 2:15am on the 15th. I am expecting to get my phone anytime today. An employee at BB ordered his phone online at 6am yesterday and when I was at BB at 4pm, he had not got a shipping confirmation and also the same thing with the Verizon employee I spoke with.

At the Verizon store I went to (to get the car dock and screen protectors) the man helping me said they had 60 DX's and people were lined up when they opened the doors at 8am. He said the phones were sold out in one hour after opening. This is in Murfreesboro, Tn which in a midsize town. I can only imagine what it was like in large metro cities across the country.
 
Didn't get to the VZW store (NW Indiana) until about 4pm, just minutes after the sold out :(. The rep said they only receive 4 models.
 
This makes me glad that I logged into the website at 6 AM yesterday and placed my upgrade order. I got the device ordered and its on the way over here. I messed up and hit "2 day shipping" so it will be here by Monday. dancedroid
