Verizon No Longer Letting Customers Upgrade Early?

My g/f was just looking at our account info and said we are eligible for a discount starting Dec 2013. We started our contract late last month so obviously thats 3 months early, so looks like there is still an early upgrade option.

Your going to lose it anyway...Once you upgrade NE2 is no longer offered.

So really if you're eligible for an upgrade then there's no good reason not to take advantage of it?
