Ok, thanks for the response none the less. I figured you knew what pdanet was but its best to never assume.

I was under the impression that as long as you stay under the 5 Gig "soft cap" for the "unlimited" data there usually arent any problems which is why i figured i'd ask.

Thanks again!

The unlimited data is from your phone, not from another initiated connection using your phone's internet connection. Complicated, but the short answer is... if you want tethering, you need to wait until an updated VZAM comes out.

Another question, just curious here. under the ##program menu, 05 data rates. By default on the Droid it looks like it is set to 153.6/9.6 and the max i see on that menu is 153.6/153.6. Would changing this to the 153.6/153.6 actually make any difference?

Nothing we ever touch lol so I grabbed this from another thread...

Ah, That's bandwidth ratio. Basically with any wireless device bandwidth is calculated at a multiple of a 4/1 ratio. EVDO either works at a 16/1 ratio or a 4/4 ratio between download and upload bandwidth. By changing this to the equal setting, your upload bandwidth will be proportionate to the download bandwidth, making it faster, but severely cutting your download speeds. My recommendation: Dont touch it.

One quick question. .. if I try and send a mms such as a pic by itself it will not go through. If I put in any text in with pic it goes right through. Kinda weird. Any ideas

I just tried it on mine without a problem. I went into the thread and did Menu > Attach > Pictures and selected a picture that I took from the camera, it compressed, and than I sent it without text to myself and it sent and I got it just fine.

A fair warning for this thread here guys. viperboy is here trying to help and answer questions for us. If you don't have anything nice to say please don't say it (or post it here). I have deleted a few posts already and will be watching this thread as it progresses. Have a great day

Ijust tried sending it to myself and it still just sits there with the envelope beside it like it is trying to send but it won't go through. Its not a big deal but it is annoying.

VB,
I tried to go through this entire thread but, I don't have time to read the entire thing. Hope this is not a duplicate question. Is there going to be a fix done about voice commands through Bluetooth devices? Well, i guess the appropriate question would be, have you heard anything about a fix for this? Having to actually handle your phone while driving negates part of the reason you use a bluetooth. I have a ddressed this twice in my Verizon store and both times the techs looked at me like they had no idea this was an issue. Hmmmmmmm, that is a little hard to believe. either or, have you heard anything about this being addressed by whomever? I know it's not a Verizon problem.

Well, it was asked before, but it's ok :) I don't use voice command at all, let alone through BT. I will see what I can find out and I will post back here. Sorry that I don't have the answer at this time.

Just a note to those using the programming menu to change EVRC ...

Set the ##program in your contacts list as Programming menu or whatever you want to call it, then if you DO happen to go somewhere where EVRC-B isn't supported, you can quickly access it to change.

Just a thought.
