Verizon Unlimited Data Fee Increase

The last time I tried suggestion 2 on the website it was not an option. Are you sure that is still a viable option?

Yes checked over last weekend because I thought I was as going to have to upgrade two of my UD lines to get them under contract to avoid fee increase.
Found out I didn't have to since I am a business account no fee increase.

Seems like it's a really easy thing for them to flag and take away your UD. Maybe not worth their effort, though, since a few hundred people tops will probably scramble to do this. But I'm inclined to think they wouldn't take it away before your 2 years are up, if ever.

But looks like I could get the IPhone 6s for $199 and sell it on wappa for $600. That's assuming my android SIM card will work (seems like it should) to temporary activate before flipping the IPhone.

Decisions, decisions!

Has not happened to anyone yet in the last couple years this has been being used.

That's correct however she has no upgrade coming. That means I must transfer my upgrade to her line first. The vzw rep told me if I tried it that act alone would cause me to lose udp.

Of course the rep told you that. They want you off UD and they get incentives if they succeed in accomplishing that.

I know that, but VZW wasn't charging $20 extra for UD in the last few years. And removing the "keep existing plan" from BB is a relatively new development, as well.

It's clearly on their radar if they removed "keep existing plan" from BB. It's no longer a loophole but now an exploit, one that LEGALLY enables VZW to kick you off unlimited at any time, and this would not be a violation of the contract because you're agreeing to a new contract, without UD, when you do this thru BB now. This is very different from a few months ago when you had a receipt/invoice specifying you kept your existing plan.

Probably more than worth the risk, but I don't know if I'm going to do it.

I was at a BB store a couple of weeks ago, and was talking to a mobile phone salesman. He hold me that this was the last weekend of BB employees selling phones and that both Sprint and Verizon was going to staff the respective sides.

The keep existing plan option from BB has been gone for over a year that I know of. If you go back in the post of the original thread you will see when that changed and that it has not been an issue.

But you're ignoring the second part of my post that VZW wasn't charging $20 extra. And they can enforce the contract any time they choose - VZW doesn't have to take your UDP away, they just have to enforce the contract where you signed away your UDP. You're rather overly dismissive of that reality, a reality that has clearly changed and likely continues to evolve from VZW perspective.

Alright guys. Let's get this thread back to the topic of the fee increase.

You've had plenty of time to go back and forth on the pros & cons of trying the workaround to get a new device.

You have to make the decision on your own whether it's worth the risk(s) at this point.

I just paid my bill on Monday and no mention of it on the bill, the My Verizon app or the website. The articles did say that the increase would be effective on any bill that arrives after November 15th, so depending on your billing cycle we may not see it for another few weeks. For me personally this has become a moot point. I am so frustrated with the amount I pay now (5 phones...on a very old plan) I am planning on changing my plan to one of the new plans if it will cut my bill by a decent amount.

We're supposed to see the notification 30 days before though. I haven't seen that notification.
