Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Gets Lollipop Rollout Starting Today

I just scanned several android news sites. No reports of anyone actually getting it yet.

Yeah, even though several sites are saying it started rolling out yesterday, there's absolutely no indication of that. Neither Verizon or Samsung have announced anything, and no one has reported receiving it. Everything is based on the posting of the documents on Verizon's site. At the most, all that means is that it's likely coming sometime soon. At the least, they were accidentally posted too early and the update isn't just around the corner.

I tried again this morning. It hung up for about 2 minutes and said something like "update cannot be accessed, try later" which is vastly different from "your system is up to date"

Interesting to see so many of our veteran members/users clamoring for this update. Especially after seeing 5.0 release with SO many bugs across SO many different devices. But then again I've never been the guinea pig type, (N/O, just a figure of speech. :) )
I simply prefer the "wait & see" approach, in order to determine just how well this update will perform in a real world type setting before taking major updates. A simple yet educational lesson learned years ago during the Froyo dynasty. [emoji41]
That said, good luck guys! I know many of you have been waiting patiently for the lollipops to make their appearance, so I bid you adieu and safe travels as you navigate your vessel through the treacherous bug infested land of the lollipops. May your journey be swift and without peril, and may your sword strike down upon said bugs with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my Android brothers. And you will know my name is Android when I lay my vengeance upon thee!! This is Sparta! CHARGE!

Oh.....ummm...wait...uhhh...yeah... um sorry about that guys, I got a little carried away. Been watching too many GameOfThrones, Spartacus & Tarantino flicks lately. [emoji12]
Enjoy your lollipop update guys! [emoji106]

I think that it is that we all bought this phone expecting more responsive updates. As someone pointed out, it is like getting a new phone, in some ways...

If there was no update, most folks probably wouldn't be too concerned, the phone works fine as it is.

But when everyone else seems to be getting it and we seem to have picked the one phone that is getting left out currently, yeah, some of us get impatient...

It really is annoying that the carriers make such a mess of this process. Google releases the code and the manufacturers are pretty quick to turn that around... But because the carriers want to load crap on there to try and push us to their extra services, we wait MONTHS for the update, and it is frustrating...

Life on the bleeding edge isn't for everyone, and I completely get why, but I enjoy updates and change. I get a little excited every time there's an update in the play store for an app that I actually use on a regular basis, so OS updates, whether they bring bugs or not, are quite exciting for me. Considering that I've been in the android game since the G1, I've had my share of surprises come with anticipated updates. Nothing I can't handle or work around. 'Tis the nature of the beast.

I wouldn't say it's "like getting a new phone". It may "look" that way with material design, which is nice if you like white everywhere and no option to change it. (Yet....though I hear they are working on that) The other major change would be the lock screen notifications. meh
Personally, I wouldn't want my notifications out there for everyone to see, but that's just me. I can definitely see the benefit with that one. I know my wife would use that one a lot.
Will the bugs outweigh the benefits? We'll see. Interesting article on the bugs..... just to "note"....apparently these bugs aren't affecting everyone so that's good news. [emoji106] AT T Galaxy Note 4 Lollipop Problems 5 Things to Know
