Seriously? Jobs has been the target of much crueler criticism and comedy sketches. I somehow doubt that Jobs is as hurt or offended as some here that apparently lack a sense of humor.

It's nothing more than a crafty bit of marketing gimmicry and a little potshot at Apple. Jobs has made himself the face of Apple, so I think that makes him fair game.

I think the competitive nature of business is great, great for the consumers as well as the companies. It only fuels manufactures to push better product out. Now sometimes the line can be crossed like someone mentioned earlier if they poked fun at Jobs being sick and having to take a leave of absence but they didn't go that far. With all these new tablets coming out I would expect more of this and I am sure Apple will fight back with their iPad2 campaign whenever that happens. I think sometimes fanboys of both sides are the ones who take it too far and make everything personal. It's no different than sports really. Everyone has a rooting interest. I just can't handle disrespect that clearly crosses the line. A good jab is great every now and then but many people have a hard time leaving it at that.

the ad didn't cross the line, I am generally saying that the ad's most of the time are not all that bad, it's the fanboys who digest the ad's and spit it back out as hate. No one has done that here but anytime an apple thread pops up it happens everytime. I am sure it's the same for the apple forums towards android as well.

i think android manufacturers need to stop trying so hard and just push their product instead of detracting from others...

Night and day difference. I guess what I was saying it's lame and unnecessary. I mean you're releasing a new product and you bring up apple? It just screams insecurity. The funny thing is if apple released the vphone and the commercial had andy being dropkicked, everyone here would be going crazy. Lame. But whatever I guess...it was....funny.

I would laugh at this, btw. Dont think apple is above this especially now with the iphone on vw. Just wait till the iphone 5 ad campaign.

advertising (for any product) has always included what the 'other' guys aren't doing... just the nature of the beast.

obviously you want to tout your own product but it's not out of the ordinary to jab at another product.
