Virtual Steve Jobs Gets Kicked in the Face in New Optimus Pad Promo Video

There is no question it goes both ways.

None at all :)

Obviously being an Android forum the negativity toward others will be there and a favorable opinion of Android's view will be prevalent.... but they're all guilty :icon_ banana:

Personally, I don't care about the ad, I just care about the device and it's performance. :icon_eek:

advertising (for any product) has always included what the 'other' guys aren't doing... just the nature of the beast.

obviously you want to tout your own product but it's not out of the ordinary to jab at another product.

truthfully, i probably wouldn't have noticed the Steve Jobs thing had it not been the topic of the thread.

They all do it, no one company is above the others :)

it's not like Apple is above this.

need I mention the childish act of banning the word "Android" from their app store?

Night and day difference. I guess what I was saying it's lame and unnecessary. I mean you're releasing a new product and you bring up apple? It just screams insecurity. The funny thing is if apple released the vphone and the commercial had andy being dropkicked, everyone here would be going crazy. Lame. But whatever I guess...it was....funny.

... on the topic of insecurity... how about Apple releasing a mid life cycle iPhone 4 on VZW to stem market share loss to Android?

shoe fits on both feet.

haha...i give up. you're comparing business strategies to lame immature commercials. i don't get how you're correlating the two.

yes companies bring up other ones always. but there's ways to do it without being childish and corny. i mean you're releasing a product and your commercial has a caricature of steve jobs getting drop kicked? if that's the best way for you to get your point across, i find that kinda sad.

i for one have never seen apple mention android (or any other competitor) once in any commercial they've ever made. if i'm wrong which I could be, please correct me. there's ways to take jabs at your competitors without looking so transparent.

i just wish people would stop forgiving android for things that they'd go crazy at apple over. I mean we had like a 20 page thread when apple blocked an android app, a valid business strategy. and everyone here is saying "i'd laugh if apple did this too" but come on, that's a lie. What would happen is there'd be a thread in the News section saying "Steve Jobs afraid of Android's surge? New commercial shows just how scared they are" or something like that with all the posters bashing Apple. i understand it's droidforums.net but still...it makes everyone here look like the "sheep" that they claim apple fans are.

To be fair, Mac had the Mac vs PC commercials with Justin Long. Those were pretty negative towards PC's. I generally always agree with you but I have to disagree here my friend, I think this really isn't anything too big. It's what the people do it with it afterward that make it a big deal.

You're reading way too much into it. People are talking about it. There's a thread here. More people are watching the video as a result = marketing success.

MAC v. PC commercials? So you're point just went out the window.

Sorry they didn't name Microsoft specifically but it's crystal clear who the PC market is when it comes to consumers.

bingo... android lovers/haters and apple lovers/haters made aware of it discuss it.

MAC v. PC commercials? So you're point just went out the window.

Sorry they didn't name Microsoft specifically but it's crystal clear who the PC market is when it comes to consumers.

Your right, and yeah I thought the mac v pc commercials were just as lame as this commercial. You missed my point, you didn't throw my point out the window. My point was is you're trying to sell a product, why insult a competitor? There's nothing wrong with saying we're better than a competitor but lame things like this are unnecessary. Apple was just as dumb as LG for those corny commercials with Justin Long and I didn't crack up laughing at those either...

Same with the corny Owen Wilson AT&T vs Verizon commercial.

Being a better product is one thing, being insecure and constantly trying to prove to the world that you're better just makes you look lame.

LOL, why is my opinion always attacked? I don't get it. Do I have to agree with you because you're a mod? Cuz I don't. It's a lame commercial and you'd think that if it was apple doing this to android...kind of like how you bought up mac vs pc in your last post...

How does this negate my opinion that it's a lame commercial? There's better ways to get your point across...I might just be a little more mature than others (not to pat myself on the back or anything haha)

no one said you had to agree with me. Nor do I take offense that you don't.

... nor did I say the MAC v. PC commercials were lame... just pointing out the proof you asked for.

I'm not attacking you at all. Relax.

It's not just Android/Apple that attack. It's any market selling any product, it's just the way it is.

I don't know that the commercial is lame or ineffective, but the Jobs bit had nothing to do with the point of the commercial. Nevertheless it was effective in generating additional eyeballs, which is sort of the idea.

Right. And my point is, that everyone here finds this hilarious, but when Apple blocks an android app, they're a cult. See where I'm going? If it's "just the way it is", why is it when Apple does it it's just outrageous? Again, I understand this is droidforums.net, but how do people not see how "sheep"-ish they are when they turn around and do the same thing to Apple that they claim apple does to them?

dude chill......if you are going to make a statement you cant cry when people challenge it....and im not saying your crying just chill the f out
