I think the palm pre won against the nexus one because the fans of other phones voted for the palm pre in fear that their phone would lose against it in an upcoming round if it won.

Wonder how long till they figure out that their poll is nothing more than a button pushing contest? Clearly the PalmPrePlus boys are better at moving their hands back and forth over a very small distance very quickly than Droid Users.

Droid is slowly catching up. We were at 31% when I voted, but it's up to 37% now. If the pattern holds true, the Droid users will vote later tonight and have a massive comeback.

Wouldn't trade my Droid for a Palm Pre Plus but that doesn't mean it doesn't have strong appeal to a lot of people. For example...
