Thanks for putting your necks out to answer questions. Here's a fairly simple one, but I've looked around for a bit and couldn't find a quick answer.
So I am going to buy a droid. So pumped. Was planning on getting it from Amazon, and getting pretty much the cheapest deal i could (fairly strapped for cast)
40 for 500 min/free nights weekends
10 for 500 texts/free verizon texts
30 for data.
$80 a month.
Now here's my question: A good friend of mine just suggested we get a "family plan" together for the two of us. She's a long time verizon customer. I never have been (other than dsl internet).
1. Is this an ok (or even possible) deal or will it come back to bite me. (Im not worried about getting ripped off on paying the bill; we are both legit.)
2. Will this save me money. Any ball park guess what I'll be paying? Will it be less than 80 per month?
3. Finally will this work if I want to keep my old number (currently on a criket phone) if we both have different area codes?
Thanks a lot a lot.
good question,
1: it is ok, and it IS possible, you simply need to figure out between the two of you who's name (therefor, social security and cred score) will go under. one thing though, remember that 2ndary lines do not get a NE2 discount (after your tired of your droid in 2 years)
2:YES it WILL save you money. your looking at $10 for the secondary line, and $30 for the data plan, so about $40 per month, instead of $80. however you will have to get a higher family plan depending on how many minutes per month you each use (700 minimum fam plan)
3:you can port over numbers from other carriers, it does not matter what area code is associated to the numbers. however if you live in different areas, wherever the account owners permanent address is, is what the state taxes will be (you live in arizona vs her living in new york...ny has higher taxes)
make sense?
let me know if any other questions or if this dont make sense.
