Quick question. If one has a paid Skype account does that mean that I can then call landlines and cellphones using this over 3G? In essence bypassing voice talk minutes and using Skype to call anyone that is not on the Verizon network?

From what I believe I do not think you can call landlines via the Skype program I may be wrong, but I believe you can only call other skype users its "skype to skype" now if that "landline" is a "skype" line than yes, but if its a true land line than no. Someone correct me if i've misheard but I believe that is the case, its only for Skype to Skype not so much land lines, still connects to your phone number to dial out just like plain old google voice does.

Which means it still cant replace your voice plan, unless you use SipDroid/Gizmo5/ and Google Voice which can all together replace your phone plan

Once its done put your phone into airplane mode so that you have no 3G connection and just turn on your wifi, than try placing a call and it should go through so long as you have credits its like 10 bux for 1000 minutes or something like that with gizmo5.

Schellbl, it is a pretty cool trick but I can tell you its all done using mirrors.

This is still an epic fail to me. One of the biggest uses of skype with a skype out number is being able to call the usa for FREE via WIFI in another country! I used to do this with my iphone. Now i guess im still going to have to use my laptop or fring. Jeez... give us skype over wifi already!!!

You are required to disable wifi and use Verizon data to use the app though. Kinda annoying.
