Warning $10 text unlimited plan is not unlimited.

I think the unlimited texting is built my our plan. We have the 1400 minutes with friends and family, along with two data plans. I seem to remember being told that unlimited text were included, so it may be more cost efficient to switch to a plan like mine.
That's the plan I have. I just checked and the unlimited text messaging is built in with unlimited picture/video.

On the Family plan, we have to pay $30 for unlimited texts to anyone on any network. I originally had the $10 unlimited on Verizon and it was limited outside of the network, it was advertised that way when I signed up.

Call Verizon back and get to a Supervisor or the Supervisor's Supervisor. I had somewhat of the same thing happen. I was changing my minutes on my plan and prior to the change I had unlimited texting period because I have a teenager. Well right after my bill cutoff I had to call Verizon on a different matter and the rep asked me how I was going to pay my bill. I was shocked and said like I always due, online, once I get it. He said Oh cuz did you know your bill was $4200.?? I was like WHAT?? He said yeah. Well after picking myself up off the floor I go through to several supervisors and it took several months to clear and the write offs get approved. Apparently when the rep that changed my minutes made the change, she did not transfer my additional options (including the unlimited texting) and thus all my daughters text msgs were charged. That was a nightmare.

So basically complain and climb the supervisor ladder until you get someone who is willing to help. If they did not tell you it was "partial" unlimited you may be able to get some of that written off. Its worth the try.

Thats my opinion.

I actually have the same plan with 3 lines and data on one(mine).I also had (before Droid & data)$5 250 text plan. When I went into the store to activate my Droid I asked and they said you still need a text plan (for my plan).I too have the 1400 F&F with 3 lines and data on one and now I have the 10 500.:)

Two words: Google Voice.

I know invites are hard to come by, but I have the 250 message plan and I do all my texting on Google Voice. I never worry about going over.

actually any family plan it cost 30 for unlimited text to anyone and that covers up to 5 lines.. i got the 1400 plan

Verizon Text Messaging Plans Verizon also has a variety of text messaging plans. They charge 20 cents per message for text, picture and video messaging. (received and sent) The texting bundles are:

$5/month for 250 messages
$10/month for 500 messages out of network (unlimited in network)
$20 for 5,000 text, picture, and video messages plus unlimited mobile to mobile.

OUCH to the OP. With me I have so little texting, that even the $5 plan is too much.

MY 10$ unlimited plan is only verizon to verizon w 500 messages to other carriers it says that right in the description.
Yup, Original poster, you should have read what you were signing up for. (sorry if I sound like a smartass, I don't mean to)

The standard $20 text package is unlimited to VZW, and 500 out of network, it's been that way for years, literally.

Two things.

1). Regardless of what a rep says, ALWAYS re-check your plan after any changes have been made. If you do that, things like this don't happen. It's no different than checking your credit card statement every month to be sure that new $20 gym membership isn't really $50

2). Call VZW and explain the situation. It is your word against theirs but in most cases if you've paid your bill on time and this is the first or second time you've had a discrepancy with VZW, they'll credit you the charges.

Thats my $0.02

Right on Slider, no matter what service or network you are on.

I hate making changes to my accounts, because they always seem to change what you have, but not always change it to what you want, or bring everything over with it.

This thread suggests a lucrative occupation might involve standing outside a Verizon store and selling deeds to the Brooklyn Bridge.
