What Android Device Do You Think Is Truly Elite?

Front-facing camera so that people really CAN be staring at the man in the mirror. ;)

Has anyone else noticed these phones are now more powerful than the pocket PCs that are still kicking around running Windows? I'd say that makes ALL of them "elite"! :D

The first droid obviously, nothing since has the same wow factor or can do as much.

Someone should throw a poll in this thread

Look at what is happening with tablets. Next it will be built in projectors on the phone, how cool will that be?

One tablet stands alone, and that's the Notion Ink Adam. I know it's not out yet but it will be the Droid1 all over again.

Just not sure if a conclusion can be reached. I like the custom rom ability of the D1 but after a while you get tired of reloading the operating system, reloading your apps or running into things your not use to. Trying new kernals, tweaks and overclocking at different speeds get old after a while. Used my dx for over 30 days and never needed to do a factory reset; good enough with 2.2 and whatever little fixes motorola releases. Sure it's not perfect but I also find that loading roms every week is getting old. Call me when ginerbread gets ported over to the D1 and most likely you will be forced to overclock.

Yeas please start a poll! And the most elite phone, my Original Droid may not be as snappy out of the box or even rooted and overclocked, but besides an HDMI out, which for I know I wouldn't use everyday, nice feature to have btw, and a larger screen, hey a 3.7 inche screen is good enough and sharper, I can see just fine thank you, what else can the Droid X really do, if you wanna mention the 720p 8mp camera then your just reaching at this point, those Mp are only worth mentioning if your printing out pictures, and 720p? Almost every phone out there that's new has it, so not so much an "elite" feature to really bark about...my droid can record real hq videos that to me look great, can be overclocked if I choose, has the qwerty keyboard that has proven to be useful when I needed it, and do everything else while looking like the droid x with the large amount of themes available, droid x is a great phone, but it wasn't anything special to jump at to replace my droid, to know I have much more control over my phone then I would have if I had an X, well that my friends, is an elite feeling that X users are barely tasting

For those that say D1 have you used a DX for more than a week? Same question for the DX crowd. I had a D1, went to DX, back to D1 and now I can't leave the DX alone. About 2 months with a rooted D1 and 35 days with a stock DX. Just saying that I have experience with both for a good period of time.

hopefully its the fascinate im getting next week'

haha it most certainly is not

I also have a fascinate and the only thing that initial bugged me was the button backlight time in the dark. Nice hardware and good form factor; light and slim. But the fascinate is not an elite device. Maybe if custom roms come out then this will be right with the DX. Looks like Samsung is also responding to the small issues bit by bit with rom updates.

The only thing I'm envious in regards to the droid x is the 8gb internal storage. Being able to load apps on the sd has made this pretty negligible, but its still nice. Other than that, I don't see what the droid X offers besides a larger screen, and no where near the customization. That being said, for people looking for new phones, I recommend the x to them, because its an easy phone to work with and looks pretty, like an iphone. But for someone like me who needs to have complete control over my phone and needs it to be a monster, its still the d1. The X is a great phone, its just nothing special.
