What are Your First Impessions Of The Galaxy Nexus?

My #1 opinion of the phone...

Compared to my OG Droid ... it just works.


Screen swipes work, answering calls works, etc. no more hoping the FC's cause the phone to reboot...no more crazy lag (yeah there's still a little from time to time)...oh and 4G is amazing.


So...bottom line...if you waited to trade in your OG droid you'll be very impressed. If you are coming from a Bionic, etc. to it...probably not so much...other than ICS functionality.

I AM coming from a Bionic (still have it for work now instead of play) and I love this phone.. today is day 1 but im telling you, in 30 days, the landscape for this phone is going to be 100% different. With an unlocked boot and no skins, the tinkerers are going to come out and play. Cyanogen will end up here, for those that enjoy it (never ran it, dunno).. Mom and Pop roms... 5 different kernel choices, 30 roms to choose from.. themes out the ying yang (i guess thats what im supposed to do...lol).. basically, options options options.... and we all love our options here in this forum.

Ive always been on Moto phones and I cannot tell you how F;ing happy I am to know that theming this phone will not require Blur-res and moto-res and setting up dependencies cause every app requires 37 other apps to run.. its nice.. as a themer, its like being on vacation.

I've noticed my notification light hasn't been working, anyone else have this problem? I've checked the notification check box on and off multiple times, going to disable SMS app to see if it may be conflicting with ICS.

Edit: Deleted SMS Pop Up app and it has resolved the issue, received a text and had a white light show up. Also had a gmail come in at the same time, so could have been the gmail that caused the white color.

I want to love it (I really do) but I can't get it to connect to my PC. The camera part connects fine but that's it!!! I'm almost to the point of returning it!@!@!@!@!

Is your's just not even connecting? You using a Mac or PC?

First thing I tried....I'm really at the point of thowing this thing out the window...

I can theme Android, hell I even made a ROM for the Thunderbolt but for the life of me I can't connect this phone to my PC!!!!

Yeah the camera is pretty good. Nothing I'm blown away by, but good enough. I like the camera on the Rezound better. I find that you need to be very stead in order to get a sharp picture, maybe because of the instant shutter. You noticed that?

A little but I'm coming from the Bionic camera which moved around and reacted like a drunken elephant. I'm really used to holding my breath and staying steady so I'm really like'n it so far!

I got it around 2pm. Instant update.

Love LOVE the way it looks the build is very very nice. I think it's the best looking phone you can get.

The first thing I did was turn the brightness to 100% and the colors look fantastic! The white as as white as can be. (I probably will turn it down - too bright)

It's very fast and very responsive.

The camera works great.

Compared to the Bionic and the RAZR and the Rezound I think this blows them all out of the water.

My light didn't work at first either. I grabbed an app called Light Flow and that didn't work so I uninstalled it. Now the LED works??!

I like almost everything better than my Droid X EXCEPT the really low speaker. Hard to hear notifications and keyboard presses.
