I wonder if clearing image cache in settings would make it work from your phone. For some reason the DF app will not display pictures unless you go into settings and clear the images cache. A shot in the dark but maybe it affects adding attachments also.

Edit post > go advanced > manage attachments > delete (from your computer)

After you got Manage Attachments a window should popup and your attachment should be at the bottom... put your mouse cursor over your pic and an X should appear.. X to delete
