What have YOU done with Tasker?

Hi, I am a totally new to Tasker. I am having problems creating the most simple task. Sorry in advance for the following question:

If Google Maps runs in in the foreground for more than one minute without user interaction, the screen light should be dimmed to 5%. If I touch the display, it should go back to its original brightness.

Alternative: Same as above, but screen is turned completely off after one minute without user interaction. A simple touch on the screen brings it back to its original brightness.

Please?

Are you trying to use tasker to display weather images in minimalistic text widget ?
I also want to do that
Could u help me?

How can I control how long Tasker waits before turning the radio back off?

[edit]

I just created a time profile which runs for 24 hours and repeats every 5 minutes. In the profile I check if the battery level is below 20%. If it is I have a task turn off the radio.

Are there any problems with this solution? I'm hoping it will run 24/7 and turn the radio off whenever the battery is below 20%. The only thing I see that is missing is that I'd like it to leave the radio on if I'm on the phone.

Thanks.

Try this:

  1. Create a profile with a task that sets a variable to 1 (%lowbat for example) when the battery gets to 20%.
  2. Create a profile with a task that sets the same variable to 0 when the battery gets above 20%
  3. Create a profile with multiple contexts that 1) check the battery percentage for less than 20% and 2)checks your variable for the value of 1. The task in here disables the radio.
If I'm thinking in my right mind today this will allow the radio to turn back off even if someone turns it back on as long as the battery is below 20%

I would like to have Tasker do two things when my battery level reaches 20%:

1. Disable the radio
2. If the radio is turned back on by someone, turn it back off five minutes later. I would like to only turn back off if no phone call is being made but that is not essential.

I figured out #1 but I am not sure on #2. Can anyone help?

The best I can think is to have a task run every five minutes and check the battery life remaining. Would a task like that use much battery life?

Thanks,

David

I have a task which will set my phone to vibrate and turn off the GPS with the volume of the notification and calls if my calendar is during the work tag. What I cannot figure out is how can I make it not run a Task that turns on a alarm if there is a work tag on that day.

Basicall I work night shift and I don't want my alarm to sound at 8am if I worked the night before and got off work at 7am because I will be sleeping, I use this 8am alarm on my days off to get the kids up and going for school, so because I will be up already I don't need the alarm to sound because I just got home from work.

Hope I explanined this correctly

Thanks

Create the task for the alarm as if it wasn't your day off. Then, check the invert box for the work conditional.

Yeah, yeah.. I'm on my phone. So?

Bluetooth and music player

I'm using stock music player for songs and mort audio for audio books. But I can't get bluetooth a2dp to control stock music player even if I shut down mort completely. Is therea way to force bt a2dp to control the specific player?

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I posted on here.

I'm trying to match an alarm time with %TIME, but it doesn't work. I'm struggling to understand why.

Basically what I want is:

Set %TRIGGERALARM to 1
if %ALARMTIME matches %TIME

And the alarm should go off. But it doesn't. %TRIGGERALARM never gets set.

Any ideas?

I will try to work on this today. I think it can be done.

OK here's a question. I use Bluetooth in the car so I end up leaving it on all the time, but BT is one of the biggest battery drains on my Incredible. I leave GPS on at all times for specific reasons, but I would like to turn BT off without having to remember to tap a widget every time I drive or get out of the car. So here is what I want to do, but don't know if it's possible.

Can it be set up to turn BT on if the phone is traveling over 15 MPH for more than 15 seconds and then BT turns off if it loses connection for more than 5 minutes?

I don't know if that is even possible, as I don't know if the GPS knows the speed without a map or speedometer app open, but this would allow my phone to turn on the BT when I start driving and then stay on until I turn the car off. Can it be done?

Do you have a car dock?

I can make it turn off when not connected but the context for turning it on (the 15mph thing) is not possible.

Unfortunately, no I don't have a dock. How about being able to set up a GPS location at my house, work etc... where the BT turns itself off when I'm there and on when I leave, but only turns off if it doesn't have a connection? I sometimes am on the phone when I get home or to the office and this way when I drive into the GPS circle on the map it wouldn't automatically shut itself off.

Also, would like to have the phone switch to speaker phone when I lay it on its back, but switch back to regular when in some other orientation.
