What is the "Audiovox Desire"?

Well I found this... Verizon Deductible you can pick the phone model out, but there is no Audiovox desire... Hmm.

Maybe there is a model number (How the Droid's is A855) I tried looking but couldn't find the model number for either the Eris or Desire

Just so nobody thinks I'm hating on the Eris- it's a terrific phone. Hell I almost got one. It's just that Assurion appears to be trying to scam the OP.

i have both cuz im a phone junky...pretty bad...i like htc phones and the sense ui so i picked the eris up but its just so small and the lack of a keyboard really turned me away from using it i txt a lot more than actually makn calls...i might have to install swype on it and see if that helps any

I don't think this phone will work on Verizon though, there has been no news of Verizon planning to sell this phone

That's what I was wondering about. Was just released on T-Mobile I believe. No mention of Verizon. That's very strange they would be looking at sending you a phone that couldn't work on the system. I'd be doing some serious research before that ships. Something doesn't sound right.

Ok, so my moto droid was stolen. Asurion did not have any more droids in stock, so they are sending me a "Audiovox Desire". I know that audivox is HTC. I also asked asurion repeatedly to make sure they were not sending me an eris and they told me the were sure that they were not as they would tell me I was getting an eris. I have been looking around online, and it does not appear that the desire has or even will be released in the states. The phone is supposed to be here monday and I am concerned as to what the hell they are sending me.... Someone please help?

I just went throught this on Friday with Asurion. My wife shattered the screen on her Eris. The site also said Audiovox Desire would be her replacement phone. I called and the rep told me it was the Eris. If that's true, no problem. If they sent me one to replace my Droid, I definitely would not accept it. I will post with an update after we get it tomorrow.

Yeah, the phone will be coming in tomorrow, so it is a little late, but I did call assurion and they said that it is for sure not the htc desire... but if it was in fact I could call them when the droid comes in and they will send it to me.

Shipment came from Assurion yesterday and it did turn out to be a new HTC Eris. How did you make out?

Same with me, cracked the screen on my Eris and on the claim it says its an audiovox. Hope im not getting screwed over, says itl be here tomorrow so il see.
