what job supports your Droid?

I'm A Media sales rep (Radio) my produced commercials get emailed to my phone, saved to the memory card and played to my clients via a bluetooth speaker! Also, Plays youtube clips of promotions the stations are having, tv commercials for the stations etc>!!

I'm a property manager on a 55+ affordable housing community and I use my Droid for email and to take emergency calls through Planetelecom. It's handy to be able to check the voice mails/wav files through my email account. Everybody else has a Blackberry, I guess I'm just a Rebel at the core.

I own my own internet retail business. I am constantly on the go picking up inventory and shipping it. The Droid helps me to get orders instantly, adjust inventory(Google Docs), check tracking(UPS and USPS), verify shipping addresses, do most accounting on the fly, handle customer service issues, etc... I don't know how I would do it without a fully functional smart phone and the Droid is the best out there(I just switched from two years with an iPhone).

I am a maintenance manager for a large automotive supplier. I keep all of my schematics and hydraulic prints in PDF format on my Droid. Also use it quite often to search for replacement parts. I use the camera to take pictures of machinery and part tags to keep track of serial / part numbers. Last week I had to order a replacement servo controller and was able to search for a vender online, place the call from the browser, send them a photo of the tag with the part and serial numbers, send a photo of all of the jumper and dip switch settings and place an order in 5 minutes with my phone. It kills me when people complain about using the Droid as a business phone. His thing saves me hours of work every week.

I'm a computer tech / consultant so the Droid is used for field notes, web research, as a flashlight, data store for my quick guides and service manuals, work emails etc. My Droid works hard for its upkeep.

Radio Shack supports me and my Droid. I only make $7.25 base pay but I make some pretty decent comission on top of it. I barelly pay anything for rent though where I live so that helps with paying for my Droid and my other toys.

I own a Online Book/Media store. I use it for so many thing I couldn't possible list them all. Lets just say "Droid Does"!

I work at a Trader Joe's so my droid is pretty much only for personal use! I use the calendar to keep track of my shifts, but other than that i use it fro music, podcasts, social networking, geocaching, and pretty much everything else!

The only thing my Droid REALLY does for me as far as work is to keep track of my work schedule (not timesheet) just so I can glance at it when making plans with other people. I use CalWidget, so I don't even open the calendar, just flip to the homescreen where my agenda is and know what's going on.

I HAVE used my Droid to lookup important information such as acceptable levels for blood sugar.

By the way, I work with the elderly. Currently in an assisted living facility, but by the end of the next week, I'll be working in a full-fledged nursing home, which is where I'd rather be.

Yeah, I wipe butts so my little Droid can get apps, accessories, etc, and so I can be a premium member here...Haha!

(Really though, I do it because I like to help people. And the elderly have the BEST stories, hands down...even the one's who've kinda lost it. :D)

Cool JohnnyKansas! I have the same interests as you regarding helping the elderly. I am currently a pre-nursing student, but about 20 years too late! But, better late than never. I do have an online class and my workplace will not allow access to wifi. At first I used pdanet to access angelonline with my laptop, but now that I'm rooted, I use wifi tether and it works great. I just wished I had this capability a year ago.

I am a Police Officer. We have laptops equipped with GPS in the cars, and we can get online...so I really don't use the web browser too much when I am working.

I do however have my personal email, as well as my work email, pushed to the phone...which saves me the time of logging in to read the emails at a computer.

I also use Gtalk to communicate fairly quickly with other officers I am working with in the area.

My personal favorite App is Epocrates. I use the Pill ID feature in the event I have someone with pills that I need to idenitfy quickly and easily.

The music apps are awesome too...when I FM radio just doesn't cut it on an 8 hour Tour.
