What Launcher to use with Liberty? Or which do you use?

I bought both ADWEX and LPP. There are pros and cons to both launchers.

Things I love about ADWEX: Wall transition animations, theming (much quicker and easier then changing each icon manually on LPP), Horizontal scrolling dock, gesture actions anywhere on the screen rather then just on the dock icons, the ability to easily edit location of the home screens.

Things I love about LPP: WIDGETS(for this reason alone I stick with LPP), Speed, Dock and Icon customization options (though it takes me longer to get my homescreens, icons, and dock looking the way I want, I like having more control and get my phone looking just how I want.) I also love Signals23 custom LPP themes!

Though ADWEX has some great features and I'm sure I'll switch back to it at some point, I just can't live without the great widgets LPP provides. I am currently on the amazing Liberty Rom, with the Frost theme, running a custom theme version of LPP with icons from Manup's Simple Word, and dock The Punisher dock icons. Loving my phone!

Man how great of a launcher would we have if we could combine features of both these amazing home replacement apps?

^ great review CHRussell, 1 quick question if anyone knows does EX has widgets, and can the icons be resized? also I know on launcher pro I can set a back up of the dock icons and icons on screen but none of the widgets come back up after a backup? is that something EX does? kinda turned into a few questions if anyone knows I might purchase EX to try.

Have you guys forgotten how to use the market? There are plenty of alternatives to the widgets in LPP, and many of which are probably better, depending on what you like.

No, EX does not have widgets. But the icons can be resized.

Widgets don't get backed up in any launcher afaik. Probably a security thing :P

EX DOES NOT have it's on widgets. The Icons in EX CAN be resized. The widget WILL NOT reload in EX when you back up on EX, if I remember corectly.

I do know that the LPP widget will reload on backup in LPP.

Why do you assume I haven't tried other market widgets?

I have tried to use several different widgets from the mark both paid and free including: Pure Calendar, Pure Grid Calendar, Pure Messanger, Calwidget, smooth calendar, calendr, quickcalendarwidget, S2 Calender, Android Agenda widget, etc... As far as the calendar/Agenda widget in my opinion nothing i've tried comes close to how slick, easy and usefull the LPP calendar widget is. I love that I can switch from a calendar grid view to an agenda view quickly and easily.

I've also tried using other widgets for contacts, Facebook, and twitter widgets and again I still like the widgets LPP offer.

Well you are clearly entitled to your opinion, never said you were. I just feel that there are widgets that preform just as well on the market. You feel otherwise. But I constantly see people asking for widgets to be included in ADW and it makes me laugh as you can clearly tell some people have not even bothered searching.

I recently made the switch to adw ex from lpp. I agree with chrussel that the widgets in lpp cant be matched in the sense of appearance, uniformity and functionality. With that being said adw ex is fast, but I have yet to find widgets that AS A WHOLE that i like together and work together as well as LPPs. If they could have babies that would be legit.

Buy both and make your own decision.

ADW EX hands down. The transition animations are awesome. I think that the speed is the same as LPP (I own both) Here's a fix, buy both and make your own decision, its only a couple of bucks. In the end you'll be supporting 2 great developers.

Been trying to get ADW working as I only use 3 screens. Getting lots of FC's on miscellaneous apps. About to SBF back to stock and see if I can get it to work.

I recently switched from lpp to go launcher. It lacks in widgets (they are supposed to be coming) but I'm very happy with the responsiveness and the options. I've never used adw but as I understand it, go is supposed to have some of both adw and lpp incorporated. I'm loving both go launcher and libertyand will probably stick with both for a while.

where did you get these icons?

Try colorize widgets in the market. Scrollable widgets just like lpp but they work better.

I've been looking FOREVER for something to replace the Lop Widgets... closest I came was Pure Messenger... which I don't really like... Colorize Widget works very nice thanks! Now if they just had FB and Twitter streams on 1 widget like the LPP one it'd be perfect!! But I can't break away from adw ex... Even though I own both... I like the horizontal app drawer too Much to switch to vert scroll again..
