This app is useless seeing the nearest server to me is 400 miles away. Can you say uninstall

Just remember your bottleneck is not the distance from the cell towers to the servers for "speedtest.net".... its the 3g correspondence with the tower is where your real worry is at.

For those close to a server like myself, I see no real difference between accessing the closest server verses one several hundred miles away...... so don't sweat it.

Every test you do will be variable from the previous anyway..... many more variables are involved that have more influence over your actual speed comes into the picture, the distance from the server once it hits cable is negligible.

If you live in an area served by VZW's LTE network, and speed is important (so you can get immediate access to e-mail attachments, for example), 3G is a total waste. The slowest I have seen VZW's LTE network is more than 10x faster than the fastest I have ever seen any (AT&T, Sprint or VZW) 3G network in the S.F. Bay Area.

That's quite the exaggeration. Att hspa is typically 3-8 mbps. Vzw 3G maxes out around 2.5 mbps. LTE definitely runs below 30+mbps.

LTE can peak at around 50 mbps but its quite rare, basically the average speed breaks down like this
3g: .5 - 2.5 mbps
Hspa+: 2- 5 mbps
4g LTE: 5- 15+ mbps

And people wonder why big red dominates.. that 4 g run was made with only 3 bars of service. 3g was 5 bars... this is why I wouldn't even consider any other devices on any other network as being a top of device...its like cool u have a fast sgII... TOO BAD my 3 g approaches ur "4g" speeds. Lol

I upload to imageshack via their app and use the direct link in tapatalk's add image url. Works perfect every time.
