Yep. ESE81 is in fact, the lastest AOSP code. That will change very quickly, of course, but its very, very up to date.

Also what is the new icon next to the 3g signal "looks like 2 circular arrows rotating clock wise? more thanks.

This is not new. It means you turned on sync either on your power widget or in your settings under account sync.
