Whats this....Froyo for the Fascinate is finally available....NO.....

That figures...

2 days ago I spent 3 hrs studying the entire rooting thread from tapout and was planning to go through the process this week sometime.

Now I will wait to see how bad the Verizon version is, and then root anyway in a couple weeks.

Pardon my ignorance, I just rooted my phone this past Friday and I just learned of this, so what does it mean exactly for those of us that have a rooted phone? It appears that the update will be manual, so I would assume it is optional.

Would my phone stop working if I don't do the update? I was under the impression that if there is an update you have to re-root your phone is this correct or my assumption is incorrect...

So is there anything this official froyo does or has that the leak we have all been enjoying doesn't do? Such as performance upgrades, javascript improvements etc? Does anyone know?

This is just awesome news. Of course now we're going to keep hearing about gingerbread updates...but I'll try to be patient. Again
