Yeah, I would be very suprised to see the TBolt drop this month with VZW playing it so close to the vest. Not really a big deal to me as I would have had to really scrape to get the money together right now, March will be cake though.

yeah i feel you, my tax refund will be covering ALL the accessories for this beast and march 3rd and on would be preferable financially. alas, im not patient. 2-28.

Called bb and verizon corporate store and bb said probably Monday 28th but not sure yet, and vz said no date and I asked well in the next week or so and he said oh most definitely. So I bet the 3rd.

Xoom gave an official release date on the 20th for the 24th I think it will b same for Thunderbolt

Damn , I can't believe the biggest thread over here was closed . Some of the mods here have idea on how to run a forum and keep it enjoyable , so far they took the fun out of all the good threads . Please make Mod somebody who cares about the forum and has been a active member of a forum at least once before , not somebody who just discovered the internet and does this from his basement as a job for $500 a month and goes into power trips . I'll probably get banned for this , and this is exactly what I'm trying to achieve because I don't care about my 600 posts , 1 year old account . Goodbye

Yeah, but there were some really official looking leaks about the Xoom prior to that - at least more official than anything we've seen about the Thunderbolt.

But, that is an excellent point.

So maybe a delay is good , at least a small one.. Skype in theory is not ready and that's one of the big selling features. It's all a guess, when VZ ad start stating a date, that's when we'll know. Store people have no clue, they too are guessing.

Brandon, as far as the people I know who stated the 28th as the release, one works at a corporate Verizon store, and the other one works at a Verizon kiosk inside a BJ's Wholesale Club. I think it's good sign that both places stated it would be on sale Monday. Unless something changes, I'm betting on Monday. I may even take the day off from work!! lol!!

Has anyone used tethering on these things? I have it on my D1 and it does not support infrastructure so I can't tether my Archos ( D1 does what's called AdHoc ) .... Does the paid Tether support infrastructure?

I'm with ha smokie, and honestly, with the way this place has been moderated I'm surprised you haven't been banned just for the suggestive nature of your screen name.

Some great discussions are going on over at Android Centrol though and they're not being beaten down by moderators either. I really keep coming here because I enjoy the discussion with you folks and all of the speculation surrounding this phone.

Anyway, hopefully neither of us get banned because as far as I can tell, we've done absolutely nothing wrong. The discussions have been good, interesting, on-topic and there's been some back-and-forth... all in all, a great forum. It would be one thing if someone was being intentionally rude, flaming the forum, spamming or insulting. But there's been none of that.

Oh well, I criticized Captain Hook a few posts back and as far as I can tell, that's grounds for dismissal. What a shame.

I don't even care if we get a release date yet. I would much rather know why it's not being released. I'd rather not buy a phone at all if the reason it's not being released right now is because of severe heating problems, flimsy product build and crippling software issues...
Pushing out a phone that isn't ready would be rash, but keeping the public informed as to why your product is months behind projected release dates is quite the nuisance. Like others have said, I heard about this phone originally in August, with a projected release around Christmas.

im assuming you havent turned on a tv in the last week to witness the massive ad campaign?

The massive ad campaign gives us no information as to what the phone is, where it is in production, or when it will be released. So no, it doesn't help at all.

I bet this phone was supposed to release earlier this month originally - but as soon Verizon got the go-ahead to sell the iPhone, they ran with that and stuck the Thunderbolt on the back burner.

The phone's ready to roll - but Verizon doesn't really want to divert any more attention away from the iPhone just yet.

I wonder if this is leaving a bad taste in HTC's mouth - and that they might look elsewhere for their next releases...
