When Will the ThunderBolt Be Available for Purchase

Not open for further replies.
As of Wednesday morning they still weren't available for order by IL/WI indirect agents. Unless they do an allocation (aka "oh here btw, have some") the latest they could do for a monday sell date would probably be a friday order date.

My company is getting these beasts overnited.

They will have to rename the phone! Intel has the copyright on the name "Thunderbolt", in which they will be introducing a new peripheral connection at 10:00am EST. And will be featured on the new MacBook Pro's from Apple.

You lost me at hello.

The reason for the holdup on the release, is the "Thunderbolt" copyright. It had been copyrighted a while back, but has not been announced, and only leaked yesterday in several confirmed new MacBook Pro's box labeling photo's. It's taking some time for the to rebrand the new Droid phone.

First, it's NOT a Droid phone. Second, Intel calls it the Light Peak, APPLE calls it "Thunderbolt" Third... 2 posts? Fourth... Source?

Is this happening to anyone else?
HTC's homepage and TB page is down for me.
This has happened before, on the 13th, and I got SO excited, because I thought that HTC was editing the page to say

"ways to buy"
"Buy Now!"

But, unfortunately it was fixed.

And I think it will be now too.
=/

Or this may only be happening to me...

Oh.. I'm sorry I thought the new HTC Thunderbolt was a droid, my mistake. You are incorrect, it's original name was "Light Peak", and it has been branded as "Thunderbolt", by Intel! You can search around on macrumors.com for any of the info you require. A Very well trusteed site, and very accurately monitored through confirmed information.

Continuing a thought... Why would Apple create a different name for a peripheral port connection, when it will most likely replace USB!?!? Not a very likely happening... Intel has the patient on the tech., so they would be the one naming it... Right!?!?

Verizon already has filled for the Trademark through the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) of the name Thunderbolt and it is (as of yesterday) published for opposition so I don't think you'll see anyone else naming something Thunderbolt for some time.

Ok guy. I posted this at Android Central this morning. APPLE named it Thunderbolt, not Intel.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm all out of troll food...

P.S. Yes two post!!! Everyone has to start somewhere!!! Besides... I am a Mac guy anyway!! HTC Incredible was a nice little phone, and I do miss it a little, but I've got an iPhone, and will never go back. As a Mac user, Droids are not a viable option.... They are just to cluttery and don't sync. And I have to use google to keep up with my contacts... and calendars.. NO........ Thank you!!!

Go get your troll food...!! Sorry... it doesn't matter where YOU posted something this morning... Dude...! Intel has the trademark!! WHY... would a computer company name a peripheral connection, that is patented by someone else!?!?!! IT JUST DOSEN'T WORK THAT WAY!! There will be no HTC Thunderbolt....!!! Sorry to break it to ya.

hmm

Yea looks like the 28th now. I talked to a few vzw people today and they said the reason it got pushed back so many times was because of the lack of skype video chat. This was a big deal at ces, but they kept loading those videos in the demo. I saw one skype video call but it was for like 10 seconds on youtube. The phones will ship with out this feature but that should be fixed on the first update. I'd just use oovoo anways. It's a much better program and easy to install. So the 14th, the 24th, and now the 28th were never wrong, just right at one time, but wrong now. Some people read it somewhere and just reposted the info like a virus. Others who work for the company had a better idea, but as you can see nothing is 100%. I think they finally decided to just ship the phone unless they want to try and get this issue fixed before they ship As for the guy saying vzw employee's don't get traning with the phones that's bs.... they usually get hands on training like the iphone but for this phone they got online tutorials on how the phone works.

So let's be logical about this.

You never know where a lighting bolt will strike. The thunder represents the noise it makes. By that logic we won't know when this phone will hit stores and we wont hear about it till it does.

I just solved this entire ad campaign, you're welcome!

kidding of course but though it was interesting lol
