While we wait ....

Huawei's still maintaining that they'll ship mine early November, whatever that means, so I'm in a similar boat.
 
So, any of you guys who ordered from Google get the consolation email yet?

Apparently they're having trouble meeting the demand of certain configurations of the device and offering a $25 refund of your purchase price to get you to wait a little longer.
 
Waiting over! Got the shipping notice last night, FedEx says delivery by the end of TODAY!

EDIT: Ok, Ok...The jealous and excitement is getting the best of me. In all honesty, I can't wait to see what you guys that are starting to get them think about them. With the time we've spent together here in this thread, I feel like I know you guys better than any of the "professional" reviews I've seen so far and believe I can more completely trust your opinions. And/or, I know how full of BS some of you can be, so I'll take that into consideration. :P
 
Dilema - Looks like the phone is going to get here before my Project Fi sim. What to do ... wait for the sim, or pop in my VZW sim?

Can anyone think of a reason why activating it with the VZW sim would cause an issue when the Fi SIM gets here ?
I'm guessing a Factory Data Reset should clean it up enough for the switch to Fi when the sim does show up.
 
Unless you're going somewhere this evening and wanna bring the phone with, you could always just set it up and use it on wifi in the meantime.

No real sense in setting it up and playing with it, downloading apps, etc. if you're just going to do a reset in a few days when the sim arrives.

But, if it were me, I'd set it up on VZW for those few days, because...NEW PHONE!
 
@Jonny Kansas - I think that gets an "Uh Duh" .... I think I'd explode if I tried to wait. I'll probably set it up but just use the default apps for the couple of days, Get the PURE Android experience. Hahahaha
 
No email from Google, no pending charges, nothing. I'm tempted to just cancel and live with what I've got for a few more months.

From what you've said about your current phone, I'm not sure you can make it a few more months...

At least hang in there until the 12th or whatever your latest expected ship date was!

I can't imagine it will be too long,I suspect that the estimated dates were purposely conservative so they could meet expectations. I think Nov. 10 - 12 is the absolute worst case for you.

Just got the email from Huawei! Mine's on it's way as well!

The email had no tracking number though. It said I could log in to view the status. Of course, I ordered as a guest, so I had no login credentials tied to my order.

So, I called support to see if they had a tracking number. First of all, their support has been awesome the 2 times I've chatted with them on the PC and this time on the phone. Professional and friendly. Would recommend dealing with them if you need to.

The gal I talked to's reaction was PRICELESS. She says, "Oh cool. They started shipping." She didn't even know!

Long story short, she assured me that the email with Shipment number meant that they'd packaged it up and sent it out, but they haven't received a tracking number on it themselves yet, so I should expect another email with the next few days.

Here's hoping this isn't some sort of fluke and I'll get the phone by the middle of next week!
