While we wait ....

Yeah. The 6P already has 4 updates to it. Checking for updates shows my phone as up to date. Time to plug it in and do it old school.
Interesting, mine updated as soon as I got it, shows Android security patch level October 1, 2015. But since I've unlocked and rooted it with a modified kernel, I guess I won't be receiving any of the OTA updates ?

What's your build #?

FYI, the November security patch for the Nexus phones has been released

I'd make a backup then flash the system.img only. Then reflash any mods or tweaks

System image is the "ROM" correct ?

Possible have to re-flash SU ?

Shouldn't affect installed apps ?

Edit: Oh and the letter at the end is just a minor release number ? or are there different variants that require different system.img files ?

I'd ask this on the other forum, but someone would invariably call me an idiot ..

The system.img from Google developers page and flash in fastboot.
Edit: The system.img from the build for your phone

Probably have to re-flash SU

It shouldn't effect any apps or app data I flashed the last security update that way.

I can't say for certain about what the last letter stands for. For this phone there are builds for multiple carriers and the last letter in the build said what carrier it was for

Latest security patch should be today's date.

My phone still hasn't moved from the damn origin scan. To top that off, the Mrs. isn't feeling well, so I had to do the grocery shopping after work. Kill me now.
