While we wait ....

Latest security patch should be today's date.

My phone still hasn't moved from the damn origin scan. To top that off, the Mrs. isn't feeling well, so I had to do the grocery shopping after work. Kill me now.
Oh man, that sucks... just remember "Happy Wife, Happy Life"

The system.img from Google developers page and flash in fastboot.
Edit: The system.img from the build for your phone

Probably have to re-flash SU

It shouldn't effect any apps or app data I flashed the last security update that way.

I can't say for certain about what the last letter stands for. For this phone there are builds for multiple carriers and the last letter in the build said what carrier it was for

Tapped from a Nexus 6

You'd think there wouldn't be a carrier specific build for this phone, since you can only get it from Google. Gonna wait this out a bit until some of the more adventurous over there go through the process.

Pretty dang happy with my phone right now. I went for 3 years with the Samsung Bootloader vulnerabilities and Stagefright and didn't get bit .....

Next I have to see if my old tools and methods will get Framework de-compiled, re-compiled and some different .pngs for the softkeys modded. I don't do alot, but do like to theme a wee bit.

If you're just swapping out images, 7zip should still work. I'd start with ADB and do an ADB pull frameworks.apk or systemui.apk. Then once you have everything swapped, do an ADB push & then ADB reboot to apply. I forget the exact ADB commands & location of the soft keys, atm but I'd be happy to help. I have links to the latest apktool laying around here somewhere

Thanks... 'preciate it. I use the APKtools you hooked me up with ages ago. Forgot about 7zip, need to get that for the new computer too.

So ya, that and a .zip file format for flashing on Marshmallow (if it's changed) and I'll be as incompetent as ever.

Incompetent?

P.S. My phone still hasn't moved.

Bummer Dawg. They'll probably mark it out for shipping about the time the driver rings the doorbell!

When it comes to Moddin & Themin ... ya I'm pretty much a fumble about and see how many attempts it takes me to make it work,
Back on the NoteII when I was messing with the lockscreen .xml, took so many attempt to get it right... and I never did manage to muck with the RippleWall successfully. so ya "Incompetent" - got just enough skill to be truly dangerous.

As long as they make the delivery on or before the scheduled day, I don't care if they fail to update the status, but I'd like to know when to expect it. Either I'm taking a vacation day that day or I'll at least have to run home & grab it if they deliver while I'm at work.

Hope this makes ya feel a bit better - this is for my ProjectFi sim - Don't take 3 days to drive from Vegas to Here

The sound on this is awesome! I've been transferring music to GPM from Spotify and the clarity is just night and day different than Motorola.
Funny - I've been copying CD's I ripped to the External Drive over the years, couldn't agree any more. It's way better sounding than my old Note....
