Who carries their Droid naked? How has it held up (scratches)

i keep mine semi-naked, it's in the leather pouch verizon sells

its all good, i only need the phone to last a year anyway

great phone but i know by dec 2010, i'll be ready for upgrade!

I used the clear verizon snap on case for about 3 weeks. I ended up with I little chip on the side thaqt I think was actually caused by the case or something that was in between the case and phone. I didn't like adding all the bulk to the phone and on top of that it seemed impossible to not collect a bunch of dust under those snap on covers.

Now I use the leather pouch verizon sells. I hate that its brown but I only use it at work anyway. Off duty its all naked.

Had the screen protector for a few weeks but it annoyed me because I couldn't get out all the bubbles.

Been naked for over a month and not a scratch. I am very careful with my electronics (phone is in the pocket by itself, no keys, etc) and the Droid so far has held up very nicely.

Let's just home I don't drop it :)

Carry my Droid naked, so far so good, cept for one minute scratch that actually looks like a piece of lint or something. It's so hard to see though, the angle and light has to be just right, you would never even know if I didn't point it out.

I don't like screen protectors at all, at first they feel like they don't cut down on the sensitivity, but remove it and there's an immediate difference.

Exact same for me. Looks horrible with the dust under the snap-on, so I just removed it.

I keep mine in my pocket by itself. So far, no worries. Knock on wood.

I've had my Droid for less than a week, no scratches so far. I've been debating how to case it since I bought it. I got a multimedia dock last night which helped me make my decision. I don't want to deal with the hassle of removing a hard-case (seidio\bodyglove etc) every time I want to dock it so a case like that is out. I am going to get a good screen protector (the one on my ipod touch you cannot even tell is there, hoping to find the same type for droid) and keep it in a case\pouch kind of enclosure only when I'm out and about. When home or at work just a screen protector will due. Kept in front pants pocket with screen facing in.

Can somebody post a picture of a scratched Droid screen? I deny its existence. My cases are designed by some of the top names. You should see the workmanship they're putting into jeans pockets these days.

I carry it naked...the screen is perfect, but I have 3 chips around it from dropping the phone twice. Once while drunk, lol. But oh well, that's what insurance is for right? If it gets too bad, smash the screen in and get a new one.

That is a crappy mentality. You realize that is essentially stealing, right?

Even if you have insurance, the replacement phone costs real money.

Not trying to be an ass, but that welfare mentality is one of the reasons our country is in the shape it is in.

I am not worried too much about looks, but I dont want to trash the phone.

when I bought the Droid I managed to get the plastic Verizon holster and a 3 pack of the fitted screen protectors.

I was on the 3rd and last screen protector when I finally got it applied perfectly. It has been on ever since. that was around Thanksgiving, the first day I had the phone.

I am pleased with the screen protector, and the sensitivity seems great, but I am sure if I removed it, there would be a difference.

I also like the the holster for the most part. I have a windshield mount, but dont use it much. I dont yet have the multi-media dock, but may get one if I figure out why I need it. LOL.

Because of the docks, I am hesitant to buy a hard case.

I would like a wrap of some sort for the phone. something like the screen protector for the whole phone, but I would like to see a Droid with one installed before I order.

All this said, after almost 2 months my Droid is in pretty good shape. The screen appears perfect, but I do have a couple scratches from dropping the phone twice. They are on the corner of the phone. I believe the corners are the most difficult part to protect.

Naked from release day until 2 weeks ago. I ordered some chepa screen protecter from ebay (Zagg like) and its been perfect. I also ordered the Seido outer case to keep from scratching the paint on the phone. But 1 day prior to my case arriving my mother in law saw my phone laying around, thought it was my wifes (also has a DROID) and chucked it into her purse with her keys, 2 sets, and other items. When I called it to find it I pulled it out and the blacked metal casing in the upper right hand corner was scratched. It actually keyed into the corner not just chipped paint off so I would recommend a case to anyone looking to keep their phone asthetically pleasing!

I had used a bulky leathery snap on case but it ruins the look. I love the sleekness of the nudie Droid much better, so far no scratches just gotta be careful.
