Im sure by then HTC will have come out with a phone with the S4 processor(Sensation 2). Who knows if Verizon will get it though. I doubt it.....The galaxy S3 will come out by then probably....Verizon wont get that.....Maybe an Incredible 3 with an S4 processor. Might have a DX3 out by then with a tegra 3 dual core....
There isn't going to be another huge jump in specs between now and 2013. Quad cores will come but wont really make a difference until the apps and software are there to back them up. The new HD720 phones will last long into 2013 as perfectly capable phones (assuming the one without a removable battery doesn't have battery issues). The Bionic is a good phone. I wish they had put out a phone that merged the Binoic and RAZR. The Bionic with the RAZR's screen would have been awesome. I don't really care if the phone is 0.WHATEVER" thinner.
This isn't relevant, really, to this thread, but I was curious: Why do we want/need quad core processors for our phones? My computer has dual core and runs a much more sophisticated operating system with no lag whatsoever along with a higher resolution screen. I mean, I get that 1.2 ghz dual core on an OMAP is not equivalent to a 1.2 ghz on an i5 but it still seems unnecessarily powerful to have a quad core processor on a phone.
I don't think we need quad cores on phones... yet. The need will arrive with hardware availability. I remember two years ago when 256 mb of ram on the OG seemed plenty and today its struggeling to run GB. I'm sure that once we have quad cores it will be just a matter of time until there will be uses that will make them a must have..

I could ask why do you need GB on your phone? I have an i5 with Windows 7, but also have 2 laptops running XP. I have no need to update those to Win 7. Win 7 is better, but XP works fine for my purposes. I'm perfectly happy with 2.2.2 on my Droid. Will I like GB or ICS better? Probably, but it is not necessary for me.
so nobody has heard any news of leaks of the next generation of phones? because they are already being planned and developed. they have to be... Also, apparently there has been an announced delay in the nexus... whats up with that?
I think everyone is missing the point. Who is the winner? We are, the end user. We are all using more power in our hands than has gone into space with every single shuttle mission. Android or iOS, the absolute winner is the consumer. We will see 1000 posts here about peoples opinions, and none will be wrong. We ask for more and more out of every new phone that comes out, and for the most part we get it. The average Droid forums user is not the average smart phone user. The average user is tickled pink they can get their email and check Facebook wherever they are. We want to modify our phones anyway we want. Guess what, everyone wins. So who will win the 2011 and 2012 smartphone battle, we will.
Please elaborate. It's not the best phone and didn't bring anything new but it won? Lol I don't understand that logic. What criteria are you basing this off of?

I dont need gb on my phone. I am using the ever solid sourcery that is froyo 2.2.2 based. My point was about quad core phones not needed yet but eventually will be as apps and os would demand more.
