Why cant we get 4.4?

So I lost swype and can't figure out how to turn it back on...its not in the same place it used to be. Help please

Swipe is gone. Google Keyboard is free on the Play Store and has Swype feature built in.

got it ,quick... But my internet icon is now white instead of blue. that's normal?
I Am near Pittsburgh PA. Also noticed that, voice mail direct dial, is a little different ,text messaging is displayed different along with contacts. Dialpad numbers are bigger and different.

I guess Google is trying to get us closer to stock Android. I liked the swype setting on my stock keyboard better than Google keyboard but so far it's working pretty good and it's close to swype. Google calls it Gesture Typing.

I think if you tap Build Number multiple times in Settings > About Phone, that will turn Developer Options back on. It did for me.

Yup its not gone, just hidden so people who don't know what they are doing dont get in there.

I don't like the new Text or Email apps - I'd uninstall this update right now if I could - just my opinion.


ETA - Is there a way to rollback to older version OS?

Most likely not. That hasn't gone well on the x or other phones that got the 4.4.2 update. It usually updates the bootloader.
