Why cant we get 4.4?

So do I unroot to get this? Decisions decisions

I think it's a little early to answer that question. It definitely speed up the phone however it made some changes I'm not thrilled about. It might be i just need to get used to how some things work and now I need to adjust. Over all is not bad

Got my update this morning (FL). My phone seems like all the lag and glitches are gone. I just wonder his long it will be until they come back.

One question, in my notifications it says that apex is running and wants me to disable it. I can't seem to get rid of it

I'd go along with this. New things take some getting used to...

(Just a thought)
You might consider doing a factory reset after the update. Quite a few of our members on the S4 forum had a variety of issues (after the KK update) and after doing a factory reset, everything was smooth as buttah. (It's also worked on other models)

Thats it? This is it? I got my wish. I know. But I dont see any reason for a person with a rooted phone to update to this if they will lose root. Which, now, I am going with, 4.4 is just a few things added and some new fonts.

It looks like the new 4.4 KitKat version is the most significant upgrade for Android in a quite some time. It includes a massive array of new features. The above video is a DevBytes teaser for a small few of the new features. Here's a quick breakdown of many more:

  • Now supports lower-end devices and can run on just 512MB of RAM.
  • It will now have a new launcher.
  • Translucent system UI styling.
  • Enhanced notification access.
  • Includes faster multi-tasking.
  • More advanced caller ID.
  • new white/gray color scheme and fonts.
  • There is a new sensor batching technology. This is meant to cut down on sensor power consumption by grouping and prioritizing requests. Google claims it is now 25% more accurate, and can ask back for clarification.
  • It will now have wireless printing functionality.
  • Includes support for IR Blasters Natively. It is limited to sending functions only for now. It can't learn or receive yet. This is probably just a feature that is in progress since it is mostly not very useful yet.
  • No has native screen recording and can output in MP4 format.
  • Now supports Moto X-style "OK Google" voice commands. For now this only will work with the Nexus 5. Supposedly this feature is hardware dependent, although Google hasn't shared what is required.
  • Bluetooth devices will now be able to control the system volume directly instead of having to adjust two different volumes.
  • There is a new lock screen which includes a camera shortcut. You can also rearrange your homescreen.
  • Built-in Chromecast support.
  • Chrome web view.
  • Full-screen wallpapers with preview.
  • HDR+ photography.
  • Location in Quick Settings.
  • Low-power audio playback.
  • Music and movie-seeking from lock screen.
  • The NFC payment system doesn't require using the secure element anymore. It uses a software based emulation work around. Because of this, carriers can no longer use this as an excuse to not support Google's NFC payment functions.

???? Seems barely half I got with 4.4.....

You are hilarious. If they gave you a crisp 100 dollar bill with the update, you would be on here tomorrow saying "What? They couldn't give me 6 - 20's? I have to go to the bank to get change? Would $200 really been too much to give me?" You crack me up.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just expecting something different, same damn thing!

On a serious note, whats the biggest change? Besides having to download a keyboard app as they got rid of Swype?

Don't feel bad. Your reaction is actually typical from folks that wait and wait and wait for an update. :) Before you know it, it gets built up to be WAY more than what it really is....than when you actually receive it, it's like hmmm, whatever. :D
It happens to us all.lol
