Why????

no verizon phone is going to have development behind it like the og droid. it has vanilla android and is the only truly open device.

*DroidForums app DOES*

cannot argue with that. unfortunately, companies are putting their own UI on Android so another vanilla droid probably won't see the future. I must say HTC Sense UI is pretty cool though.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the lg star (or whatever its called) comes to vzw with vanilla android.

so far only tmobile gets the vanilla os devices

I don't think it'd be a true vanila android though if another one were to be released on the Big Red. Verizon likes to add their own apps in there, noticed that with my Incredible. I mean seriously...VZ Navigator...

Yeah, like they really think people are going to pay money constantly to use their GPS service when they can use Google Maps free or buy a GPS unit for a one time fee, right? Lol. As far as UIs go, I'm pretty happy myself with the UI that came on the Droid Incredible. It's pretty freaking cool. Then again my phone before that was a BlackBerry Curve which I had less than a month, and before that BB was a older model Samsung R451C. So...I'm actually pretty new to the whole top of the line touch screen phone thing anyway, so my opinion on a UI might not count as this is pretty much my first touch screen UI experience. :(

every opinion matters, otherwise the debate for the best UI wouldn't be discussed. If you like it great, I know I've become a fan.
I came from a Droid 1, a vanilla droid device, and feel the stock Incredible UI is much better than stock android. I also came from rooting/ROMing and feel the Incredible UI is great and basically covers what I would've done with my rooted Droid.

Ha awesome. I'm really happy with Incredible too. I saw a news thing awhile back on Yahoo that placed the Incredible as one of the best phones available on the market right now. It was some kind of article about the best and worse cellphone of each carrier.

Yeah i think I read the same, was mentioned as arguably the best choice for a smartphone (at least on Verizon); fast, easy to use, light, and most importantly "a real competitor to the iphone" (don't you just hate that comparison?) It really is a great phone, the only knock is battery life but it isn't as bad as I first noticed once I "trained" the battery.

as for the original topic of discussion, the Incredible forum is nowhere near as active as this board for some reason. I'm a member on both and I find myself here all the time rather then over there.

I like this one too, I'm much happier sticking with one forum per interest - otherwise participation becomes a time-sucking chore.

Agreed. It is not very active over there at all. You get the people that needs help rooting, and the occational soft brick, but not much discussion.
