BLUR is the shell that Motorola wraps over Android to differentiate from other vendors and to try to make user experience better. Some people hate it, others like it. I'd say new ICS people app (contacts), for example, comes very close to BLUR's contacts (which I think is great).
When ICS comes on Motorola phones (if comes to D3), you can most certainly be sure it will have BLUR integrated (or whatever Motorola likes to call the interface).
ICS for Bionic has been confirmed via Facebook by Moto (Source), so hopefully that means we'll get it.
At the very least, we might see an official port once the Bionic.
My prediction is that The Binoic/RAZR will get it at the same time, with D3 following close behind.
I can't wait to see how it looks on the D3, but even more so, can't wait to see what the Devs do with the source code. That's to be released when the Nexus goes on sale....hopefully.
Before ICS can come to the Droid 3 it's going to take Motorola dropping Blur (or whatever they want to call it now) OR Motorola coding Blur into the ICS framework. Hopefully they have been working on it for a while and not starting on it now........ I'd prefer the "dropping blur" option myself....but Motorola really really likes their blur.
If there's ONE thing google should do now that they own Motorola Mobility and have some influence, it's force them to drop blur... I have little doubt this conversation is happening right now. Pray they do it before the spin-off.
You can be sure Motorola's customizations aren't going anywhere. ICS or not. This is what makes Motorola phones Motorola for all its goods or bads. And I'm pretty sure Google isn't going to change that, even after the deal closes.

I have absolutely no doubt the mindless corporate drones at motorola think this way, but it simply isn't true...not in the least. People lacking the technical chops to the point that they actually like blur are barely savvy enough to even know that it exists and definitely won't notice when it it's gone except to wonder what happened to it when the verizon salesmen mentions it's absence in a new product. Everyone else either hates it or doesn't even know it's there.
A note about Ice Cream Sandwich:We are planning to upgrade DROID RAZR, Motorola RAZR, Motorola XOOM and DROID BIONIC by Motorola to Ice Cream Sandwich. We will provide more precise guidance on timing after post-public push of Ice Cream Sandwich by Google, as well as any possible additions to this list of devices.
saw that as well but im not worried. the fact they the Bionic is mentioned as a definite leads me to believe the D3 is right behind it. They are essentially the same phone as a lot of people argue.
