[WIP] Froyo Kangerade V1.0 *testers needed*

Thanks guys i actually didnt see the previous posts about this but i did try barnacle wireless tether but that didnt work for me for some reason but the apk from that google link did work so thanks again!

any options for wireless tether or even wired tether coming soon? Im gona flash this tonight but just wondering cuz i saw a froyo somewhere w/ wireless tether (in testing phases i assume)

Look at my post a few pages ago...

I simply installed android-wifi-tether apk (google it) from my SD-card with the stock Kangerade kernel and it Wifi tethering works perfectly. Even with WEP 128-bit encryption and Access Control turned on. This is not available from the market. You must go to the: Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code and there it is. I am just running a version that I downloaded a couple months ago. Not sure how old my version is but it was the latest version of android-wifi-tether out at the time.

Or better yet-- as jrummy told me, the wireless tether app is in the market. and isn't wired tether in the menu?

I do not believe it is in the market, because when I searched for 'android wifi tether' all it came up with was something called: m900 WiFi Tether (root users) Beta4 Release. And it said it was ONLY for the Samsung Moment (M900). It showed the same icon on the market page as Android-WiFi-Tether and for kicks I installed it and of course it did not work, so I just got my old android.tether.apk from my Astro backup folder and Astro would not let me restore it so I just opened the APK from Root Explorer and selected 'Install' and it installed just fine and works a charm.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I did a search in the market for simply 'wifi tether' instead of 'android wifi tether' and it found the other one. But I'd still just rather go here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list and get it because they actually specify which file is optimized for which smartphone so you can find the one that specifically says for Droid and feel like you know you got the best one. That's just my gut feeling talking here. Maybe the market already detects phone type and downloads the appropriate file based on that...I don't know

Okay, so second time this has happened... now it 'bugs' me.

I use my phone as an alarm, like most people nowadays. Alarm works fine, no problem there! However, when I grab the phone to snooze or dismiss, its completely lagged out! I keep trying to press the snooze button all while listening to the damn ringing alarm going off and its making my head spin!!!! TOO MUCH FOR 6 IN THE MORNING! LOL. Needless to say, by then I no longer require the snooze button and I'm wide awake trying to make sense of whats happening.

Anyways, the minute I get it to snooze, I'd press the home button and within a second or two I'd get a force close of ADW. Keep trying with the home button and it will launch but it takes a few minutes for the phone to run normally again, it just completely lags out and force closes. Its really hard to describe accurately but the whole damn phone basically locks up or if you're lucky, proceeds into slug mode.

My only thought is with the P3 kernel that goes down to 125 mhz, that this is too low maybe and the phone can't handle it. I've bumped the lowest setting up to 300mhz and we'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

Clock And Dock (Numbers under clock)

When I went to dock the phone I got a bunch of numbers under the clock I tried downloading again but the same thing happened I'll pm you in case you don't get this..I'll tell you this is a fast rom

I think Its some kind of glitch with the new clock, he said hes reverting back to the 2.1 desk clock. Which works perfectly

Anyone else have your gmail account wiped from the phone after installing? It also does not have the option to add the account from the settings page, I tried restoring some account settings apk's from titanium backup but none restored my gmail. Thoughts?

Does anyone know why every Froyo build i load eventually stops working and i have to do a battery pull to restart it?

lol that does sound like it would annoying. and min of 125 is a very good possibility to what is causing that. i learned from a post, WAY BACK when ultimate droid had his threads, that you should keep your min at no lower than 250mhz. anything less and ur cpu is crawling.

i flashed it but could not get my gmail acount to work so came back to v.8

out of all the 2.2s uve tried this one was the only one that worked. couldnt get cheves or TCs to work and havent tried BB yet

I love this Rom... really fast and smooth... no issues. That being said... I'm used to Jrummy goodness for themes.. Are there any compatible themes on Rom Manager I can put on top of this Rom comparable to Jrummy?
