when you are looking at screen protectors, do yourself a favor and make sure that they are for the correct Bionic (XT875/Targa). I was amazed to find so many screen protectors still on Amazon that are designed for the original iteration of the Bionic (Etna).

I have had very good luck using the Siedio screen protectors. Been using the same one for over 6 months and its still in pretty good shape. I am using this one

Nothing is really for the 865...it was never in the wild, but my esn reports as an 865 and it's definitely an 875.

And then it's not like we'll all get the ICS update instantly, we'll have to wait up to x number of weeks in turn, right? And I'm guessing there's no way to get ourselves to the top of the update list, right?

i wouldn't have thought so either, until i bought a 5-pack of screen protectors that had a different layout for cutouts at the top (earpiece, light/prox sensors, etc). that was last year, so hopefully all of that stuff has been sorted through by now.

So, does this mean that we have a choice of waiting for the OTA, or we can go the HoB route, and in the end be at the very same place? Given all of the delays and whatnot with ICS I'm not counting on JB so this OTA may be it for us (unless there's a minor update).

Yes you could use HoB.

Wow. I wouldn't have thought the dies for the 865 screen even existed, must have been a few chassis dummies leaked to accessory mfgs.

my guess is that they got the specs for the original Bionic, had a batch made, the Bionic was delayed/redesigned, company didn't bother to check if the anything physically changed, released protectors as "Bionic screen protectors"
