Wireless Moot

w00t for the m00t! I have successfully made the jump from 905 to 946! Thanks Sam! Got the CPU bump from 1.0 to 1.2 as well. Now, off to get some rest, i have a fun filled day of exploring some ICS in the morning.

I took the plunge and went from 905 to 246. I am a noob to this and was a bit nervous, but based on what everyone here said I took the chance. I have to say that the HoB process went as advertised. Smooth as silk. I also got the bump to 1.2. My wife is still on 905 so it will be interesting to watch and compare our phones performance.

Thanks for making this process as easy as pie (or cake if you prefer)

Well i have to say that wireless moot is the most popular bionic thread ever 115000+ views an almost 3000 posts and 200+ likes ^_^

I'd go with Amazon.com: SanDisk Ultra 32 GB microSDHC Class 10 UHS-1 Memory Card 30MB/s with Adapter SDSDQUA-032G-U46A: Electronics.

It's UHS-1 which is the successor to "Class 10" speeds. If your phone supports SDXC(some phones do but don't mention it) I'd go with that for a little future-proofing your card. The card I linked claims 3x the speed of Class 10. While I wouldn't expect those speeds through the Bionic, I'd definitely rather spend money on the card I linked than yours. ;)

According to this post the Bionic supports SDXC(64GB+) cards.

SanDisk prices have dropped a bit. I used to go to them (SanDisk) first but started looking into the Samsung cards when the price differences were much farther apart. I might be going back now.

HOB strikes again!! (kinda)
I decided to take the plunge, and read/re-read the entire HOB FAQ
Downloaded all of the required items
Saved the instructions to a txt file and got a BIG cup of coffee
Installed everything per Samuri's instructions and rebooted as needed (Win 8 pro didn't say to reboot but I did)
Started the HOB script and everything was good, until I got to the AP Fastboot reboot point. Sat there for 45 minutes and never rebooted. Read instructions again and FAQ-didn't miss or skip anything. OK-lets pull the battery since it never flashed anything and try again. Same results. It did show that something was copied to my card, so I decided to try reboot of phone and selected the manual process Samuri indicated a stock 905 could use. Install completed and I wiped cache and rebooted in to ICS bliss. On reboot, computer asked if I wanted to Root it and I said no-and thanks for using HOB.

Not sure what happened, but when I tried it after everything set up, just to see if I could go to 244, everything worked fine (I did the downgrade, and it even rebooted the phone like it was supposed to) I then upgraded to 244 again and it worked perfectly.

Samuri-THANKS!! If you ever get to NC we have some great tracks near Greensboro-Bristol, Martinsville, Charlotte, Rockingham, Richmond and Atlanta-ALL within a few hours and night racing is great!! (24/Hendrick fan)

Sorry for late reply but I've been busy. I had the same hang issue and while stuck I held down both volumes for a second and the process then continued. I'm not sure why that mattered, but it worked. Hope it helps anyone else with the issue.

I wonder if we can figure out exactly how many of is on this forum are actually still on. 905?

I am...

Sarge, when do you think, in Q4, we will see the OTA? I know there are a bunch of different variables as to when, but your guess is way better then mine :)

I'm still on 905, mainly because every week it seems like the OTA is only a week away. At some point, I'm gonna use HOB to upgrade (thanks for all the hard work, Samurai!), but maybe I'll just sit tight another week and see what happens... ;)

I wouldnt be surprised to see this happen considering how much negative acclaim the Share Everything plan has recieved

Verizon did a press release this week claiming that the Share Plans are booming and have taken off better than they thought, they have seen a mass influx of unlimited clients switching to the tiered plans...

I call B.S. on this since Verizon is attempting to force everyone off of unlimited an onto the shared plans. I thought when 4G went live, they wouldn't have an issue with bandwidth on their LTE lines, and I remember, can't seem to remember where I read it at, but Verizon at one time said that they would not get rid of unlimited data on 4G phones just the 3G ones to try to push everyone to 4G LTE.

At least they could have two upgrade prices one for those on tiered data, and one for those on unlimited, then have the normal buy outright price for phones. This would make everyone happy, and Verizon would turn a slightly larger profit than they are now, because I would gladly pay a slightly higher upgrade price that isn't full price to upgrade, and unless something happens like unlimited stays, or they do the separate prices like I said just now, I am sticking to my Rooted Bionic with 246.
