I did some research on battery technology a while back, and one site I ran across that seemed well sourced suggests that Li-Ion batteries don't last as long when fully depleted regularly. The reasoning is that they're a chemical composition, and fully depleting them wears out the chemicals faster. What are your thoughts on this?

I also have sat through many presentations listing this fault in the chemistry. If you drop the voltage stored in the battery you will damage it. I wonder will the control logic prevent this and at what level.

There's no evidence to support that theory. It was postulated during early Li-Ion design, but never proven to actually be the case. Time, prior history of exposure to heat, and number of cycles trumps all other effects.

Ok folks, made the jump to .246 Saturday night, I think the phone is better in all respects but one, I seem to keep losing my data connection fairly often. It definitely is not as bad as 905 but it seems to be worse than .232. I am seeing 4G a little more often on 246 but it doesn't seem to hold it as well. I also noticed you can't use the settings menu to select CDMA only now, I tried it with Phone Infor app but it seemed to reset itself within a few minutes. It the phone can grab 4G it seems pretty happy but 3G seems to cause it some problems, data slows down like crazy to the point it's acting like a 1X connection. Has anyone else seen this type of problem or have any recommendations? I've been waiting to post this to see if maybe it was the local network but I'm also seeing this at work which is 40 miles from home. Any observations or suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

Been seeing a lot of people posting battery stats in less than 5% increments. Am i missing something in the battery manager our are you all using something different?

there is a mod that you can do that will allow the phone to report in 1% increments, but that requires a deodexed rom. there are a couple of apps that can do it without needing to flash the mod, namely "Rings Digital Weather" and "Notification Toggles"

Have you done a factory reset?

Factory reset, Monk, I was having the same issues

Tapatalking Samuri'd 246 Bionic

No, I had thought of it but usually that wouldn't handle a data connection issue (at least from my admitedly limited experience), I'll give it a shot EVEN though I'll have to reset up all my apps (which I just finished doing)! Any difference between doing a Factory reset via phone menu over a data/cache wipe from SS\BS?

Thanks folks for the replies.
