The House is getting another update that everyone will approve of. The RAZR linux devs have been fighting with getting webtop to flash in linux. We all agree....this is not necessary for most people and wastes time. Let's make the House faster by removing that unless you're doing a full REINSTALL option. (Which allows people to fix webtop if it's broken). This will speed it up a LOT. And allow me to push out a linux script later tonight that'll work for my linux/mac people.

yeah then you can have ppl ask you HEY WHY ISN"T MY WEBTOP WORKING?

Only if you want nandroid backups.

Related question on bootstrap recovery ... sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I haven't seen it. Removing bootstrap (both the app and the system/bin/hijack and system/bin/logwrapper files) was required before installing the original ICS leak (before HoB existed), so I've been doing the same before each upgrade using the HoB. Then I have to reinstall bootstrap each time so I can re-flash Google Now for ICS (which I've come to love too much to be without). Is removing bootstrap actually required with the HoB? I ask because I have also been unfreezing/refreezing all my apps, but saw upthread that apparently it's not required with the HoB. Just want to minimize the steps required when I upgrade from .246 to .247 tonight.

Thanks again for your tireless support of the Bionic community!

Had to post to this thread just to say I was part of the 8million posts. As you can see, I post a lot. Lol. Seriously, I am a frequent reader of this forum and the last few days have been entertaining to say the least.

I must be the only hold out though. I am on rooted .905 and only want to do the update once. I am waiting until 10/15/12 and if no ota by then, I will join the House.

Don't feel bad you're not the only schmuck still stuck on 905. Although I just OC'd mine to 1,250 mhz and I must say its much snappier now. Eases the pain of not being on ICS somewhat.

All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi...

Man you guys do a lot of extra work when I've tried REALLY hard to make the HoB as simple as I possibly can. *I* use BSR. Do you think I like cleaning that up every time? LOL! I'm lazy! The HoB flashes system and preinstall images from 905. It'll overwrite things like forever root, bootstrap recovery, battery mod things, etc. And since I'm flashing those images, freezing apps isn't going to break it, either. So keep the BSR app installed, run the update, then root, then have the BSR app install BSR and you're done. Nice, eh? :)

That's a specific date. Why not just pull the trigger now and be happy with your phone again?

Paranoia. With my luck, as soon as I do it, there will be some jacked up security check that will forever brick my phone.

Well... suit yourself but, as has been discussed on here numerous times, security should not be an issue. The builds we get are the same as what the OTA would be so same security. Still, you have to be comfortable with the decision.

Oh, oh, maybe we need to make another feature update to HoB, "Make a backup of your existing system before you F'it up"?

Don't feel bad. I haven't done it either. It's getting hard to resist though. Too many people on this thread are having too much fun.

I'm getting more and more tempted. We should start our own thread called HoB Resistors :)

I know I occasionally will post something to help divert people's attention by using words like Bacon or Platypus and even the occasional random statement but today I'm not going to do that because the hardest part about a Zombie Apocalypse is pretending I'm not excited.
