I like the fact he went quiet. Means, he's working hard on making it right.

I think he went quiet because he got his pee pee smacked for acknowledging we got a raw deal. Haha

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using ICS .247

Is Motorola going to push the update instead of Verizon?? I'm so confused!

Me, too...kinda. B'leeve Sarge said something like 'Moto would be taking charge of the Bionic OTA' but not sure if that meant pushing it from their servers or VZWs servers???

I remember some Razr/Maxx owners posting screenshots of some kind of 'announcement' that ICS was coming but not all got that pop-up. My son didn't and when his OTA came he brought it to me and I couldn't get to wi-fi quick enuff and it ended up taking *many* hours to d/l it with the 4g drops. Runs fine on his Maxx now, tho.

Settings > applications > manage applications (i think). Then select an app you want. When it opens click "disable".

Yes that is how I was talking. Using the built in function of ics. I disabled the rest of the apps that Sam had disabled but when when I have to reboot or if I power off the phone because I get lousy reception where I work, after the phone mounts everything, BOOM! Here comes Google play books and Google play music updating again. I think I will just have to freeze them so they will stay disabled.

Instead of powering off in a bad reception area I usually just put it in Airplane mode. Conserves battery pretty good.

Ok people there is a bit of misunderstanding here moto always pushes the updates what prevents moto from pushing them is VZW they have the right to veto any update that the believe isnt up to there standards an requires to have the update be up to there standards regardless of how long it take but now since moto/google just popped VZWs favorite balloon at the negotiations VZW agreed to moto/googles terms an conditions regarding updates allowing moto/google to more efficiently an timely push out updates

So at this point the ball is in Moto's court with an update that's ready to go?

Btw, I know this is in the Bionic section, but I got routed here and found that it's a great source for updates on VZW and Google/Moto. And I know this is a "omfg are you seriously asking that" topic, but what's the news about 2011 and up bootloaders? Was that part of the discussions?

True but i am hearing about a build 6.8.248 is in development but thats the extent of my knowledge an yes its 6.8.248 not 6.7.248 but I am treating it as rumor right now since my source cant confirm it an its my belief that 6.8.248 is JB but thats my opinion untill I know whats fact or fiction about the update

It was but vzw squashed it but agreed to unlock phones outside the razr I meaning future moto phones since the razr I was created before google took control an moto already agreed to the terms and conditions for the device

Yay more MOOT! Thanks Sarge.

Sarge also does this on his phone often, so his grammar may be off, and without punctuation due to that as well. so, yeah, i believe him.

Anyone not willing to wait and is into ROMs I'd recommend either CM10 or Speedlite AOKP. CM seems a bit more stable but Speedlite can be OC'd (CM might be able to as well but that's above my skill set). Using Speedlite as my daily and just had to drop from 1.35 ghz to 1.3 due to random reboots, but overall nice and smooth if you can do without Bluetooth. Plus with safestrap you can always go back to whatever ICS leak you happen to be running if you're not impressed. Thanks again to Sam and Sarge for all of their work.

All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi...
