With all the issues the Galaxy Nexus is having, why is it being proclaimed the best?

I'm not sure why a lot of people are so concerned about having the best phone? Regardless of what you have now, something better is just around the corner anyway. Whatever you have now is way better than what you had 2 years ago. I can only imagine what phones in 10 years will do...

I want the phone that Will Smith wore in I Robot. A phone, earpiece combo that had marvelous sound at 100mph , stayed on his ear while he crashed his motorcycle yet came off easily to dock, went everywhere with him and looked cool too :D. Until then I'll settle for Android.
The first iPhone was buggy and looking at it too hard broke the screen. Look how iPhone has turned out. I think the Nexus will be just fine after a few quirks are worked out and remember a lot of the signal issues were Verizon outages

Ummmm...over at Phonedog, they picked the Skyrocket (SGS2) over the GNex in their dogfight. Not sure where you are getting your info from.

I haven't seen the SGS2 vs Gnex dogfight. To be honest, I've been researching the latest three verizon phones--Gnex, Rezound, Razr--exclusively. Nontheless, it seems like everywhere I look the Nexus is being praised as the best.

Its the best phone to me... period. Its an unbelievable phone which is why its being heralded as king with future updates from Google or the community guaranteed to keep it there for the time being. Issues occur with every phone so just give me a name and ill directly you to their forums. For a brand new OS, I was expecting much worse.

The skyrocket is nice met a dude with it in Vegas and he wanted my phone after we both played with the others. He worked for either t-mobile or at&t (wherever the phone is at) and didn't quite believe the hype of LTE over his network and then was shocked when it blew his out of the water.

Root and all your problems can be solved.

Not sure why you are saying the Rezound has better specs all around. Sure some things are better spec wise, but both have their advantages and disadvantages. No way the Rezound is a clear winner spec wise. Depends what your preferences are.

A side by side comparison of Razr, Gnex, and Rezound:

A coworker bought it this weekend. Her question: Whereinhell is the menu button?

Even the salesman at Verizon had his Nexus rooted and ROMed. He did warn her that it would void her warranty if she did it.

I have to say, even with all the issues some people have been having, more likely than not, I'm going to take the Gnex for a 14-day test drive this weekend. :icon_ devil:DancingNexus

Awesome phone. Best yet. Razr is just ugly.

RAZR or bust! Lol, just kidding. It all boils down to personal choice. I chose the RAZR over the GN because of Motorola's docking solutions and its thinness.

Why are well-respected phone information sources like wirefly and phonedog highlighting the Nexus as the best phone on the market when there are numerous issues with it? The Rezound has better specs all the way around, yet the Nexus is better?? I don't get it. Does the fact that it has factory ICS completely make up for the issues of the phone? Seriously... a phone with reception and signal issues is the best??

The rezound does NOT have better specs. For one the omap 4 series is a better processor than the s3 straight. Then the nexus has the 4460 which naturally runs at 1.5 but was underclocked to 1.2 the rezoumd has a better gpu but not processor. No way to say clear cut but if your a gamer then a rezoumd would be better if not then nexus is better. And ics is 100% compliant with the 4460 specifically, so don't where u got that from. I had both and the only better about the rezound is the camera. Which it says in every review of the nexus. This phone is amazing and the developers (which no other phone will have as much) will fix every issue that the 1 to every 645 nexus owners complain about.

I'm an absolute nut about this stuff.. This is by far the best phone I've met/used. My previous favorite was the Bionic and this thing makes the Bionic look pretty dated. I have no issues at all. Great battery life, signal etc.

Not a single issue here. Best phone I've ever used.

+1

"Best" is subjective, but I say to people if they are going to jump ship to Android, they might as well get a head start on the new OS and get a Nexus.

GNex is amazing! Its a revolutionary upgrade. And to further reinforce my claims, it has the fastest growing community online. GNex will do for Android what the OG Droid did.
